Kyle Watson, the South African producer who has been wrecking the dancefloor like a one-man demolition crew, swings back around for round two with This Ain’t Bristol. After absolutely crushing it with his Watermelons / Fly With Me EP from last year, he brings the same wobbly edge on his second appearance, 'Rhinoceros,' a from-the-wild two-tracker that’s sure to rattle a few cages. Living on the flip is “The Cone,” which sees Watson getting phenomenally wavy with oscillating basslines that slink and slide beneath silky-smooth arpeggs and a seemingly satisfied-to-the-core vocal sample.

Track of the Day: Kyle Watson “The Cone”

We couldn’t resist to release this soulful boogie disco house joint GOLDEN GIRLS from Tigerskin & Jack Jenson featuring vocals from south african rising star Lazarusman.

The both producers about their session: „We were looking  for inspiration by listening to various bassline stems freshly recorded the week before. And we checked the secret studio archive which includes the recordings of almost 30 years of Tigerskins work. Looking for hidden treasures in hundreds of recordings we stumbled across a simple and unreleased drum arrangement.

Just for fun we added one of our basslines to it and recorded a bunch of melodies with some of the old Moogs. You know you're working on 'one of those songs' when each member delivers exactly the ingredient that the others were thinking of when working on their part. When Lazarusman sent the vocals and as we listened the first time to the demo version of what would become ‚Golden Girls' we both looked at each other and agreed that this might be our best work so far.“

When I Get There

Respectable DJ, producer and label owner Miguel Campbell has announced his latest EP ‘Recapitulate’. The 5-track release will be out via Outcross Records on the 17th March. 

Opening with ‘Can’t Blow’, the EP begins with his signature French-touch style, filled with 80s synths and a laid back melody. Moving through the new collection, there are elements of a turning point for Miguel as he explores new territories with his sound. Tracks like ‘To Get Her’ and ‘Nu Muzik’ go deeper with a hefty low-end and accelerating vibe - whilst sticking to his vocal-heavy style. 

In contrast, 'Shaking and Burning’ takes a melodic turn with a filtered piano melody layered over a 4/4 rhythm, whilst the title track ‘Recapitulate’ is a bass-driven groove underpinning twinkling synths and catchy high-hats. 

After celebrating 10 years of his label Outcross Records last year, 2017 signifies the beginning of a new chapter for Miguel Campbell. As the first release of the year, ‘Recapitulate’ EP is a turning point for the credible producer as he begins to explore new sounds.
