Just how I used to throw it down back in the day.   I'd usually open sets with the Depeche Mash-up and close with the Duran and weave the planet rock beat in and out as the theme of the set overall.  These records worked together like magic and that was the only way a live mash-up was going to happen in those days. It was the late 80's and Freestyle had emerged as the dominant style with Stevie B at the top of the charts so it wasn't a surprise when the blockbuster New Wave bands put out singles with the classic electro-freestyle rhythm.  The only problem was that to us purists who never got over the 808, they didn't quite get it right.  Fortunately the Planet Rock Instrumental record worked perfectly, even the synthesizer melodies go together brilliantly(especially with Zeus' studio magic).  Dang that is tight! Just listening to this again for the first time in a while.  OK mine didn't quite sound like this back in the day. Holy Smokes. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am!!

Johnny Jupiter and his sidekick paid a visit to Dr. B00M's Secret Bass Laboratory hidden deep in the glory hole of Miami, where it aint a party unless the Bass is so phat that the vibrations make  everyone Hershey squirt on the D-Floor!!!  It turns out that Johnny's "sidekick" is a Synth-Sorcerer and he drops the authentic Old-School Orthodox 808 Electro Beats at Big Boss Level!  Johnny and I are like old zealots in reverence of the mystery of the esoteric essence that gives an Electro Groove it's authentic Old-school flair. Zeus is like the Wonderboy Monk who solved the riddle and became an ascended Beat-Master.  He was throwing down some next-gen beats that make Aphex Twin's new shit sound ancient!  It was a unique fusion of high-tech glitch that had been marinated with Monster Bass and fully saturated with the OG Electro-Funk Essence!  It was a fantastic week  of Gluttonous Debauchery at the beach, then the studio, then the club, then the afterhours: repeat.  We were riding the lightning just like back in the day!
