Masterful producer @YUKSEK returns to RNT with the Déjà Vous EP of all-original modern disco. She’s Mine leads with a rolling percussive beat and Italo baseline and layers emotive piano chords and plaintiff vocals, to hearken back to a nostalgic era of indie disco. On the flip side, the EP title track collab with Brazilian producer Diogo Strausz brings expected tropical flavor, and All Night feels a bit French-touchy with it’s infectious phase effected vocal loop. Accessible hooks and solid production, this is a handy one for the bag!

Lovetempo is the brainchild of Mattie Safer, known for his work as the singer and bassist of Poolside and The Rapture. For Safer, Lovetempo has been a way to fuse saudade sentimentality and jazz-funk with modern dancefloor sensibilities. Following a run of well-received releases on Brooklyn tastemakers Razor-N-Tape and toucan sounds, Lovetempo now brings TSTD this special edit of his cover of Anita Baker’s “Same Ole Love (365 Days a Year),”. The track features New York nightlife icon Prince Terrence on vocals, bringing his signature touch to a timeless classic. Originally self-released in 2023, Lovetempo has extended and dubbed out their original version, transforming it into a hypnotic slow-disco groove that feels as cool and effortless as a summer breeze. Expect warm falsetto floating over the most laid-back, organic disco-bossa rhythms. Tasting notes: perfect for brunches, poolside parties, getting ready for a night out, or winding down after the club with a chilled Loire Valley red, this track is a stylish, feel-good essential for any occasion. The original was TSTD’s favorite track of 2024, there was only one problem... it wasn’t long enough! So please enjoy this delightfully extended, slightly dubbed version.

Angus and Alex are the friends and bandmates behind Goodvibes Sound. Despite only starting to create music together in 2019 the two released their debut album “The Institute” in 2022 – a blend of upbeat discofied soul, indie doused in a heavy dose of psychedelic vibes. Inspired by 1970s California, hot tubs and beach bars, Goodvibes Sound craft groovy psych-pop tunes with a disco twist. A simple yet powerful way to place your subconscious mind in direct contact with the ‘universal vibe-o-sphere’, if you like. The duo are really interested in mindfulness and presence, and how to live in the moment, given all the distractions of modernity around us. Their music is set in the world of the Goodvibes Institute, a mythical research body exploring methods to develop consciousness throughout the world. Goodvibes Sound is the audio division of the organisation. Their album “The Institute” follows the story of two characters who escape from their busy city lives to discover the Goodvibes Institute. Not a lot of introduction needed here. London based soul brothers Andy Platt “The Young Gun” and Shawn Lee “The Silver Fox” met back in 2005, but busy men that they are, it took until 2018 for their now legendary debut album to arrive. Never had the modern Neo Westcoast sounded warmer, fresher and more sophisticated – a truly timeless retro-futurist debut. Their contribution here is very special, a collaboration with two other legends of the past, Robbie Nevil and Steve Lindsey. As Shawn explains: “In January 2024, Andy and I went to L.A. to do some writing before we embarked on a US tour with Young Gun Silver Fox. We holed up in the Santa Monica beach front studio of L.A. music veteran Steve Lindsey. We were also joined there by Robbie Nevil of “C’est La Vie” fame. A normal YGSF Monday! It quickly became quite clear that our very first effort ‘Curious’ was sounding very YGSF!” Here at TSTD we have long held a hope of getting these cats on board, so we couldn’t be happier to finally have this stunning Westcoast soul classic exclusive.
