Release starts with “ One In A Million “ an ambient track with which Albert intends to immerse the listener into an interstellar journey through the outer space.” Strength “ follows, funked up dark progressions, shuffled sub bass and strings sequences floating randomly over the groove.  “ Bullshit “ is the third track, beefing the kick, distorting the feel and looping the arrangement in a proper tooly exercise. “ Arpeggio Madness” is a loopy and raw , strange/trippy touch. Closing the release “ Uncertainly ” is a nineties infused track, with a precision loop flying over a constantly moving arrangement, spiced with classic Roland drums and analogue synth lines. 

Dedication and commitment could define Albert's work in recent years, where he has seen first-rate labels open their doors to him. Albert is an outstanding student of the production courses that Joton teaches in his studio and it is a total pleasure for us to see him grow in his career. This ep called "one in a Million" is a good proof of that. Enjoy!

A debut Bleach Cult album "Summertime Whiteout" - the quirky ambient pop record that fantasizes about 1960s surf culture and romanticizes the never-ending dilemmas of teen life - got seven versatile interpretations from diverse Partyzanai comrades. Ement transformed "A Coke With Hollie" into a rockabilly dancefloor sweat version, while Five Rituals duo converted the same song into a broken deconstructed club track. Sound designer Shkema took as usually a slow groove "mushroom" house approach and Zoe Zoe created an AI-based leftfield vocal version. Black Feeling transformed "Acid Shades" into a balleric dancefloor tune and Mart created a dreamy guitar-synths version of "Kenny". Finally, Alex Krell adapts "Neon sugar" into a true rave-ish anthem.

BEST OF ITALO MODERNI 2021  OUT NOW

Was it possible to feel both satisfied and unfulfilled at the same time? To be complete yet empty? Straddling two worlds that are seemingly contrasting but strangely they both make complete sense to you... People always say the grass is greener but there's no knowing if that's ever really true - usually the thing you need is already staring you right in the face. If it's not, then perhaps you're in the wrong lane altogether.

It's likely when you think of 80s Italo Disco, Alexander Robotnick's name will immediately come to mind. A veteran of the Italian electronic music scene, it's been 40 years since he helped to pioneer the now infamous sound, defined by its infectious arpeggios, analogue drums and robotic vocoders.

Still hard at work today and now in his 70s, Robotnick's latest venture takes him to Italy's Bosconi Records, a departure from releasing on his own Hot Elephant Music, which has been the home of most of his recent work. The Hidden Game is made up of three original cuts, previously unreleased, that blur the lines between Italo, electro and techno, bolstered by a remix from a new flag-bearer of the modern Italo sound, Tiger & Woods co-founder Marco Passarani.

Saturn commands the new episode of the series MM Saturns, being loyal to his obscure style, “Fortress of Suara” mixes dark disco with high doses of Kraut and Wave in order to create a spiritual journey through the underground.

Tribal elements and dark synths among Saturn’s favorite tools, showing his huge potential in this 3 tracker ep; psychedelia in every single beat, turning for moments hypnotic and adding this spacey-trance vibe that helps on build 3 sound mazes where to get lost in.

"When Octo Octa sent us the demos for her first full-length record since 2013, we were floored by how many tracks were single worthy. But, there was one that stood out as something entirely on its own, a song that in many ways sounded like nothing Maya had ever released. Since the beginning, we always knew we wanted to do something special with "Adrift," the 8+ minute space-age synth-dub techno tune. When we asked Maya about doing a 12" with remixes we were blindsided to learn she has NEVER had any of her music remixed before. It's February. It's cold. It's time for Uncanny Valley's first release of 2021 to warm up any Techno head's heart with legendary yet mysterious artist CVBox. Three years have passed since the artist's LP So Ist Es Im Nadelwald, which was also out on Uncanny Valley. Now it's time for some TeqNoTv or four new takes mostly dedicated to the straight four to the floor genre, of course with various nuances like Super 78's dubby feel, Total CV's dreamy synthline-sequences, On/Off (Autoether)'s ambivalence of warm chords in a pure Techno-surrounding and the EP's opener Vio line's Acid-line and robotic vocals turning the track to a somewhat futuristic-sounding take that is so precisely arranged and sequenced that it's sharpness hefts one right into a dark sweaty club evoking picture of an a crowd dancing on the a razor's edge.

CVBox's EP TeqNoTv will be released on Uncanny Valley on February 17th, 2021.

The 'Modular Immersion' release sees the techno legend drop a rare remix for Blumoog label- founder M.R.E.U.X., released Feb 20th.
Opening cut 'Dark Mind' is an uncompromising techno affair leaning heavily on a warped bassline while dubby chords and bright synth lines play off the groove. 'Liquid Gear' lays the focus on syncopated drums, rattling kicks and sinister atmospherics. At the same time, Ben Sims' high-octane interpretation of 'Dark Mind' shows off his trademark, loop driven percussion in a tense, energetic version imbued with funk.
DJ/producer M.R.E.U.X has a career in techno stretching back over 20 years, but since 2016 his Blumoog imprint has propelled his reputation to new heights. With releases from Dan Curtin, Steve Stoll, Terence Dixon and Patrick Pulsinger the Italian label has garnered a raft of support from the techno underground and looks set to continue with its latest missive featuring Ben Sims on the remix.
Sims is one of techno's most revered characters. He has released on leading labels including his Symbolism and Hardgroove imprints, hosting a long-running NTS radio show and headlining almost every worthy techno club and festival on the planet.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'.
