Exclusive: Superpitcher - Lush Life feat. Fantastic Twins

He’s back. He’s back with some lush music. He’s back with his Lush Life single. Aksel Schaufler alias Superpitcher, a Kompakt mainstay, the co-label head of Hippie Dance, one part of the Pachanga Boys and known as the ambassador of the golden rave days, debuts on the Live At Robert Johnson label with a two tracker as golden as the twelve ravey chapters he’s put out on his own label. Lush Life, the EP’s eponymous track, features French-Berliner Fantastic Twins’ for the vocals, and comes in as Superpitcher-esque on the one hand and quite different on the other. The almost ten minute lasting track is probably a typical Superpitcher feature, what is new though, is the selection of sounds and the result in general. Aksel created an utterly atmospheric take, which flows by as fast as the rave-days, and takes its listeners back to the days when Francois K delivered dubby House music takes per excellence, just like Superpitcher does now himself. Peaceful almost spiritual and endearing are traits that describe the emotional components the track evokes in its listeners with a Julienne Dessagne, Fantastic Twins real name, delivering those charming vocals that hunt you through the night and over the floors.

Superpitcher's single Lush Life will be released on Live At Robert Johnson on February 18th, 2022.

In Flagranti needs no introduction they have been at it for more than 25 years. The project is a compressed package of all their experiments in music, art and graphics, and is defined by a raw cut'n'paste aesthetic and DIY attitude. This EP is no different featuring two magnificent tracks, with remixes by Eric Duncan and Fango also gracing this production from Mexico's Calypso Records.

Kicking off the New Year by announcing: "Nube Diamante," a collaborative single EP featuring an insane talent combination between @andrealacoste @mysteryaffair and @azaria_mad . The release is set to drop in the end of January 2023 and the original is sure to be a floor banger with a spectrum of sounds and lyrics that unfold like an exciting experience.

"Nube Diamante" showcases instrospective personals with peak time brushes, a piece reinterpreted via outstanding remixes from some of the hottest names among the indie dance / dark disco platforms. @chas.gracias remix is a tropical trance with latin touch, powerful bass and cowbells, then straight from Guatemala, @riveiby brings to the table a neo pop psychedelic pachanga driven by antagonic grooves. This EP also includes a remix from @ivan_delarouch , head honcho at Logical Records, a special collaboration from the Spanish artist @parissior and a bonus vocal rework from Andrea. Of course, Mastered at [@recdivision and graphic design by @lebollet aka Miguel Redondo

Spanish artist James Rod joins Roam Recordings with two original mid tempo driving psychedelic offerings. The title track Baila con Satán features a warped vocal backed by an energetic swirl of electronic mischief. Metatrone goes deeper with hypnotic trance inducing arpeggios and moving synth work. Duncan Gray returns to Roam with two remixes - one for each original. Duncan’s take on Baila con Satán keeps the psychedelic vibe of the ep but put it into more chill territory with live bass and guitar echoing about the ether. By contrast, Duncan Gray’s remix of Metatrone picks up the tempo and brings the acid.

He does it again. Music architect Das Komplex designed another funky and groovy weapon that combines both: the driving elements to make one float over the dance floor and the chords to make you enjoy the sweet sunrays at the beach. Both being so intense that the track swiftly beams you not exclusively into different settings on 'dance floor earth' but with its tonal chord sequences lets one experience zero gravity in a different galaxy. As part of RSS Disco run label Mireia Records and their We'll Sea-series, Galaxy is one out of four tracks the trio signed for their various artists series, each carefully chosen and thoughfully compiled to an EP, the listener is beautifully guided through the different musical takes and precisely to Das Komplex's nine and a half minutes of a Galaxy.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
