The great pyramid loomed in the distance, a towering dark triangle etched across the brilliant blue radiance of the midday sky. Sheherazade would attract gatherers from far and wide, they came to observe the ominous scale of the brickwork and the golden glow which illuminated from the nothing that was the desert floor. It would be there until the end of time, they would not. It would stand tall, they would crumble. Inside it was fierce and strong, nobody knew the power. 

Tora Vinter is set to release a new EP on BROR. The Gothenburg based producer delivers two eclectic house cuts which are then followed by a remix from Dj Lily. The atmosphere runs deep on this one.

Exclusive Dodi Palese 'Rain Dance'

Producer, DJ, label-head, vinyl-addict, Dodi Palese's affiliation to music seems infinite and his tracks represent an extract of this endless passion in a limited time of being. With his 'Erika EP' the Italian releases a three tracker on Munich based label Compost, consisting of two originals and a remix by his friends and music companions Lehar & Musumeci, depicting a small repertoire of his musical preferences and state. 'Rain Dance' literally just does what the track title suggests, it causes the listener to dance in the imagined irreality of raindrops, pictured by diverse synth-pad-sounds, falling into raised arms as the listener's mind expects the beautiful touch of them, to be touched by the melodies Dodi created while the feet rhythmically brush the accumulated water on the ground. It's not only a rain dance but the rain dancing.


Dodi Palese's EP 'Erika' will be released on Compost Black Label October 19th, 2018.

Mexican music manufacturer Iñigo Vontier continues to ride the wave of psychedelic infused electronics to great resolution. Following the release of last month's taster, titled the 'Xu Xu' EP, Vontier returns to Chloé's creatively liberating Lumière Noire Records for the release of his debut album. Spread across 9 tracks, his first leap in long player territories sees the Latin American DJ and producer embark on an innovative exploration of demented grooves, psychedelic take-offs and imaginary comic strips of mystical rituals.

For the occasion, the Calypso Records head honcho has called upon a group of closely associated adventurers to collaborate. In the case of 'Awaken', the track we've the pleasure of airing here today, we witness the reinstallation of the already battle proven combination of Iñigo Vontier, together with Thomas Von Party and John Shape under their Drugface alias. A slowly developing burner that glides towards an unraveling dimension of hypnosis is the result, before its ethereal releasing point kicks in midway.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
