When @audiosoulproject's 'Spirit Repair' EP first dropped over two decades ago, the record's A-side, 'Back To Joy', gained momentous attention, and was licensed no less than 30 times to third-party labels and in heavy rotation by DJs across the musical spectrum.

Taking the reigns on a brand new edit landing on Chicago's @fresh-meat-records, house veteran @dj-mes uses many of the original track elements and vocals, adding his own drums and bassline, a dynamic arrangement, and a righteous preacher vocal that asks us to feel the spirit and dance.

French label Happiness Therapy, run by Crowd Control, is known for its pure House music, which - not only according to the label head but proven by the floors - delivers the cure for human imbalance by making people dance. Shortly before the start of the darker seasons, meaningly autumn and winter, Happiness Therapy comes along with a 14 tracks strong compilation guaranteeing enough happiness in all its details. Parisian in Lisbon Jamaimoi got the goodies for less outgoing ladies by coming up with a track that probably causes the opposite. Only For Shy Girls is an impressive piece, which is difficult to pinpoint to one genre as it contains elements and sounds that go from Breakbeat over to Rave and, of course, House. But it's this mixture that turns Only For Shy Girls into an addictive anthem that's sprinkled with pads and chords surely making all sexes giving up on their reticence and dance.

Dylan Dylan took on remix duties for GRiNCH's Wet Money take and the love-spreading artists strikes a chord with her approach by turning the 90s R&B influenced original track with its rather housey-note into a way deeper track with an impelling bass line.

R&S founder Renaat Vandepapeliere returns with the first expanded compilation in his personal RV Trax series showcasing the hypnotic sounds he plays on the dancefloor. In this fifth installment, Vandepapeliere has chosen 9 groove-laden tracks from an array of talented electronic artists representing Belgium, England, Argentina, Northern Ireland, Italy, France, and Germany.

A frustrated drummer at heart, every one of the tracks on RV Trax Vol 5 (and previous volumes) has the shared DNA of heavy percussive workouts - keeping the focus of the music on the drums. This premiere's 'noos' by VENDi is certainly no exception, showcasing its intentions early on, with a spine of breaks intertwined in a moody melody that anchor the track from start to finish.

Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
