badabing diskos welcome Oslo-based but Bogota-born Casablanca 303 for a pair of irresistible
house gems.
Casablanca 303 operates in his own deep house world where influences from jazz, world, kosmiche and disco all colour his grooves. They have so far come on the likes of Mhost Likely and Cocuy Records as he continues to make his name in Norway with regular sets at key local clubs. This new outing on the influential Scandi label badabing diskos is sure to take him to new heights once more.

He opens up with the adventurous 'Lucid Dreams', a full flavour house cut lit up with expressive synth
lines that bring rays of cosmic energy. A gurgling bassline down low never quits and makes this one a
characterful track full of warmth and drama. The fantastic 'Estereograma' is an equally epic cosmic trip
layered up with colourful synths and driving drums. Acid lines and big chords bring extra detail as the
journeying groove never lets up and gets ever more electric.

Casablanca 303 once again shows his class with these two sublime tracks on badabing diskos.

On the summit of the Astral Cliff there was the long-forgotten DP-6 shuttlecraft of the Kwansi pirates. Corrosion on the hull plating had almost completely taken over the paint, which only
occasionally peeked through between dense clusters of fluorescent bryophytes. The vines and wires dangling from the stern provided a perfect living dome for the lively Sivinerian
millipedes goofing around on the runes engraved on the ship. The sweet scent of exotic flora created an ethereal glow. A giant stingray floated gracefully across the celestial kaleidoscope. Each flap of its shining wings gave the impression of time slowing down. One could be absorbed by this grace and lightness for hours, immersing oneself in the world of aesthetics and harmony that ufolded before the observers’ eyes while they were enveloped in the calming embrace of the gravitational massage chairs.

– Sea Devil – what an appropriate name for such a majestic creature.
– That's right, Cat... A true manifestation of multielements in all their splendour!

Hot on the heals of Phil Kieran’s first Blinded By The Sun Album Remix project which featured Roman Flügel and Andrew Weatherall remixes, Hot Creations return with a second remix package. Mano Le Tough, Matthew Herbert and David Holmes all contribute to create a set of flawless cuts and a superb second Remix package.

Revered by his peers, Kieran has been producing music for over a decade, building on his solid reputation and forever pushing boundaries with his music. When selecting the second group of remixers, Kieran chose “people who have influenced me and still currently do, in some way I guess they have a connection to the record already. I made a wish list of who I wanted and to my surprise it all seemed to come together very quickly”.

Both heralding from Ireland, Mano Le Tough aka Niall Mannion was an obvious choice for Kieran due to the shared dedication of their craft, and leaves a deeply emotional imprint on Solar Storm. In 2013 Mannion released his debut album Changing Days on Permanent Vacation, soon followed by Resident Advisor ranking him #8 in their Top 100 DJs Poll.

Similarly to Kieran, English musician and producer Matthew Herbert regularly ignores the restraints associated with dance music, instead choosing a path of innovation. Taking Realities Forgotten into the early morning hours, Herbert punctures a swinging rhythm with electronic glitches.

David Holmes under his Unloved alias concludes the package with a cinematic remix of Think Too Much, overflowing with emotion, it makes the perfect conclusion to a stellar release. Also from Belfast, Holmes has been composing music for over two decades, winning his second Ivor Novello award in 2016.

Exclusive Kiwi 'KatE'

He does not play rugby nor are kiwis his favorite fruits - the  artist moniker Kiwi is the result of looking at rotten Kiwis on Alex Warren's kitchen table and the fact that he only had little time to come up with an artist name after he had signed his first record deal. Since then the Londoner has taken the scene by storm and released music on renowned labels such as Correspondant, Disco Halal, Optimo, Futureboogie and many more. His latest signing, 'LakE/ KatE' on Fort Romeau and Ali Tillett's Cin Cin label. The two tracks not only complement each other because the track-titles rhyme but also at a musical level. Kiwi continues to walk his futuristic disco influenced path with both tracks whilst 'KatE's' convincing elements are definitely the double bass slaps adding drive at the low-frequencies while the lopped synth-pads provide the same at a mid- and high-range and subsequently gain a different note with delaying distant voices.

Joe Goddard and Kiwi's split EP 'Jack Come Back / LakE' will be released February 8th, 2019 on Cin Cin.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
