The new EP on It’s a Pleasure imprint is conceived as a kaleidoscope of Jaisiel’s previous releases where pop and house converge in a seamless embrace. 
A side is all about the infectious radio hit “Nada Que Ver” and its mesmerizing Remix by Lipelis who made its magic to turn the original track into a super fun and dynamic certified dance floor journey, where thick bass frequencies and classic M1 organ bass sounds will take you on a trip alongside Jaisiel’s hypnotic voice.
In the B side we entry into the dreamy realms of a UK rave in the 90’s with the pulsating energy of “El Amanecer” (Tenerife ’89 Mix), a synesthesia feeling where you can almost see the sun rising in your imagination while listening to it.
Following and closing the EP, an intimate and groovy acid tune “Sobre Cien” that invites you to chill and re-connect with your inner nostalgia, lyrics are about a big theme nowadays after Covid times, which is escape the noise of big cities and remember the value of your hometown, family and all time friends.

Not An Animal is a label that was born from the party debris left uncleaned from London’s infamous Bad Passion parties, run by Chris Stoker and Andy Bainbridge. The leftfield imprint’s next release comes from label co-pilot Andy Bainbridge himself, who has been DJing for over 25 years, and as an integral part of the Bad Passion crew together with Stoker, they ran their infamous parties in the East corner of London. Andy Bainbridge has DJ’d extensively throughout Europe and is a mainstay at festivals like Houghton and Love International. His music production includes making tracks as part of Machete Savane, Latrec and A.M Edits, with releases on Felix Dickinson's Cynic, Futureboogie and Is It Balearic. 
 
For his debut solo release on Not An Animal, Andy Bainbridge serves up a raw, late-night house dub, accompanied by sizzling remixes from Donaldʼs House and Komodo for good measure. ‘Up Too Much’ starts simply evoking house classics of old. Dubby percussion sets the genre, the Buchla synth wobbles that form the tracks melody are delicately peppered with acid sprinkles and a vocal garnish bringing the track squarely into the modern day to form a tough yet gentle roller.  Next off the pass is the Donaldʼs House remix, finely weaving the essence of the original mix into a proggy sidewinder, highlighting the acid arps previously lurking in the background and slowly melting the track into a delicious trancey mess. Closing out, Komodo kicks off in a classic Chicago style; claps, stabs and all, with vocal samples adding that extra texture for that knockout punch.

SPEC01 - Force of Nature - Is the fruit of the long-standing musical relationship and shared visions of producer and Selector RDS and Spectral Bounce, the perfect catalogue opener.

Over four moody club-ready tracks, RDS dives into the sound of the after-hours, where minds are freed and darker energies are expressed. Both sides display perfectly controlled acid synthesis, heart-grabbing bass lines, cut-through drum sampling and an extremely textured and gritty mix. RDS' musical influences are clearly felt, harmoniously fusing UK 90s bleep techno, spacey tech house and dub with his own emotional perspective to club music.

The Dutch producer's distinct dance floor sound is here captured in its essence, processed through his expressive electronic machines while controlling tempo and energy in a unique manner. This EP is a sonic statement, offering the listener the Spectral Bounce sound.

Valencia's Nacho Marco has an incredibly impressive back catalogue, with releases on brilliant labels including Freerange, Plastic City, Lazy Days, Ovum, We Play House and his own excellent Loudeast imprint too. Now added to the list is the irrepressible Chiwax, with his “The 909 Files" EP. 

Each track is simply titled 'File 1' through to “File 4“, so let's kick things off in the usual order. "File 1“ is a powerhouse of percussion and keys, with an almost Reese-esque bassline rumbling underneath. The weight of the kicks and the metronomic rattle of the rimshots thunders the track along, making this a very impressive opener. 

“File 2" slows the BPM down a few notches, the drums are again super-heavy (being from the 909, as the EP title gives away), but this time the keys take a softer approach, with glorious floating pads underpinning the mellow mood here. A wonderfully woozy closer to the A-side. 

Flipping over for “File 3“ on the B-side, the 909 is joined by our old friend the M1 bassline, with clipped vox parts adding to the energy pulsing through the track. Swinging along in a fashion reminiscent of classics such as  Kerri Chandler et'al, this is a superb straight-up warm house jam. 

Rounding the EP off, “File 4’"is built around a stabby church organ riff which nags away throughout the track, the punchy percussion and tinkling chords coming together in a swirl of joyous depth for the dancefloor. The bassline chugs away with its neat bounce, echoing the thump of the unmistakable 909 kicks, closing the EP off in the style it maintains throughout, namely exquisite dancefloor-driven house music which has a real timeless quality.

Using just the acronym of his real and artist name, Matthias Schildger, is back in top form on his and brother Christian's Mainrecords imprint, gifting us the 'Radiation Dance' EP. On the vinyl version, it's four tracks from Matt and one from both brothers as CSMS, plus on the digital release there is the bonus cut of 'SomewhereInSpace' from Matt, of which more will be written later. 

The energy gets a clubby boost on the A2 as the title track gets moving along; crisp beats are married to an arpeggiated bassline, slight bleeps and subtle FX sounds wrapping themselves around the main structure of the track to give some warmth to proceedings. As with the opening track, there are quietly placed spoken vocal parts, never firing from the speakers, but just adding a layer of sound to complement the main action. Memories of Axe Corner's 'Tortuga' or C-Concept's 'Why Naked?' sprang to mind, with the track's pulsing early 90s electronic feel, which is no bad thing at all.

Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
