Taking its sonic roots from the Saudi-African dance tradition of the Mizmar, Moving Still blends the acid basslines his Dubliner mother would bring back to Saudi with traditional percussive patterns of his hometown to electrifying effect. Hong Kong rooted and raised artists and Canto head diggers MH respectively RFX release the first edition of their Canto Club House project, a potpourri of four tracks reworked and reshaped to be played out on the dance floor and around. After a well-received digital release of Extinct Melodies From the Canto Club which gained the support by artists like Ben UFO, Tim Sweeney, Nd_baumecker or the Blessed Madonna, the demand for more Cantonese edits has been there and is  now finally satisfied. Club-friendly and cheesy but never crossing the line of becoming irrelevant is what characterizes this release, which is equally split into two edits from RFX and MH. The latter took on responsibility for the A1 and A2 while, Romain FX sprinkled his magic on the b-side of the vinyl. The A1 or Track 1 (MH Edit) takes one back to the 80s, to a time when clubs like DD's, Canton Disco or Hot Gossip opened their wild playgrounds in the Asian metropolis of Hong Kong as its nightlife revolved around hotels in those times, ringing in a new era of clubbing. MH's approach lets one re-experience this period of Hong Kong night clubbing with a bass line that vaults one right into the beforementioned events and the Disco-esque chords and vocals add the missing pieces for this total Canto-experience and journey through a 'decade that gave birth to big hair, shoulder pads, and great music'.

After a long process, we managed to get in touch with an
Australian four-piece that went by the name of Boxcar from 86-92, producing a lot of music ahead of its time.

They’ve recently started re-issuing their songs with modern producers on remix duty and after asking Romain FX to work on a remix, it was only natural that Fauve Records would work on a limited-edition vinyl-only release with a stellar cast.

For this edition, we have asked some of the coolest cats in the game to hand us a remix with their specific touch and an array of bangers came about. Donald’s House with a rave house-inspired remix, Fabrizio Mammarella with a more EBM/Italo touch, Jonny Rock with a dubby finger- licking-good take, and of course Romain FX with an intergalactic voyage.

Maximum Flavour - the new project spearheaded by Matt FX and Giorgio Beatsaface - serves a dose of cheeky nostalgia with ‘Chef’s Kiss’, their debut original offering via Disco Halal. It’s a track that transports dancefloors back to the 80s, back to that classic New York dance music era where queer self-expression and the infamous Paradise Garage sound reigned supreme. With its glistening synths, rolling drums, and trademark jock-jam vocal drop, Maximum Flavour present a stadium-sized interpretation on the Hi-NRG sub-genre, mixing past and future to create a sense of unbridled joy.
On the flip side, label head Moscoman gives his trademark touch, adding an array of drums that up the pace of the track, making it perfect for those peak time moments. Like legendary productions duos before them, Maximum Flavour makes larger than life music for big room play. ‘Chef’s Kiss,' with its unique reference points, is a head-turning opening statement and one that carves its own lane. This is just the beginning of what looks to be quite the explosive journey for this exciting twosome.

A kite is a tethered heavier-than-air craft with wing surfaces that react against the air to create lift and drag. A kite consists of wings, tethers and anchors. Kites often have a bridle and tail to guide the face of the kite so the wind can lift it. Kites is also the title of the premiere by Zurich Dada.
The track takes us back to the darkest depths of the retro future from Zurich Dada a Portuguese Synth Pop duo who take inspiration from quantum physics and the multiverse theory as much as they do from Depeche Mode or the Human League the track itself reinvented reworked and reconfigured by Anbau, the Catalan stalwart of Aspecto Humano.
In a kicking rewiring with a gorgeous vocal performance, tough drums, melodic analogue synths in a digital age. This is going to fly.

Awesome Orientalists From Europa is an edits project dedicated to awesome music and new politics. Inspired by record labels and DJs that specialise in reissuing ‘world’ music, A.O.F.E. turns the tables on the perception of who is exotic by rediscovering obscure and forgotten western dance floor tracks. The music published in the project fantasises about the foreign, tribal and oriental, but was in its whole created in the west, for the west.

All profits from this release are donated to NGOs that fight Islamophobia, antisemitism and racism in Europe.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
