Nathan Alexander Pape is a listener, musician, mathematician, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY.

Instead of simply defying the constraints of the guitar to proclaim the finding of a new music, Nathan uses the limitations and traditions of the instrument as viable sources for inspiration and creation. 

In addition to Nathan's solo work which focuses on the sonic expansion of the steel-string acoustic guitar through improvisation, he has a regularly performing duo with percussionist John O'Brien and is currently collaborating with James Belflower to develop flexible structures that allow for musical interaction with James' performative poetry.

You may also hear him performing finger-style guitar in the vein of John Fahey and other American Primitive Guitar practitioners, simply because he loves that music and it makes people happy.

zhanraw creates lyrically driven word and sound compositions that probe and agitate the psyche against a backdrop of ever-changing forces. The resulting works are often cerebral and moody, heavyset with word play, and occasionally minimalist -- teetering on the edge of the spoken word. Think: the vocal expressions of Kate Tempest and Sonic Youth mixed with the instrumental/musical expressions of Radiohead, John Cage, and Moby.

Lapa weaves together musical stories with complexly textured harmonies, expansive melodies, and intricately layered beats. His music blurs borders and transcends boundaries, illuminating the resonance of universal forces and teleporting people to wild, dream-like places of serenity and connection.
