Sylford Walker -Burn Babylon

É uma banda jamaicana de reggae muito popular durante a Década de 1970. A formação inicial da banda foi formada pelos seguintes integrantes: Albert Griffiths (vocal e guitarra), Clinton Fearon (guitarra e vocal) e Dallimore Sutherland (vocal, baixo e guitarra). O líder vocal e formador da banda Albert Griffiths se revezava nos vocais com Clinton Fearon e Dallimore Sutherland demonstrando a grande versátilidade do grupo. Em 1987, Clinton Fearon deixa a banda para seguir carreira solo e decide morar nos Estados Unidos. A maioria das letras e interpretações são de responsabilidade de Albert. O primeiro grande sucesso da banda foi a canção melódica 'Hello Carol', em 1968. Os dois álbuns mais famosos são Trenchtown Mix Up (1976) e Proverbial Reggae (1978). Por problemas de saúde (Mal de Parkison) o líder e vocalista do grupo Albert Griffiths parou de cantar e deu a responsabilidade do grupo ao seu filho Al Griffhits , com vocal que lembra muito o timbre do pai, e com estilo próprio e muita energia no palco, Al Griffiths é mais uma revelação de músicos jamaicanos. Esta nova formação do grupo the gladiators continua a fazer shows em todo mundo em países como Áustralia, todo continente europeu e vai passar pelo Brasilna Tour Verão (dezembro 2013 a janeiro 2014). Com certeza o grupo the gladiators está sendo muito bem representado por Al Griffiths, já gravou discos como Fathers and sons, Kayans Meets Gladiators Band, Continuation, Zema With The Gladiators band.

Timewarp inc returns with his third full length album “Ghetto Drunk”, after a long period (over four years ago) since the previous successful album “Groovy Booty” back in 2008. The story of modern nufunk, broken beats, nu disco, nujazz and dub, all mixed up together, that's Timewarp's sound signature, continues with new material that will give you a true experience between contemporary music to dance electronica, for maximum listening pleasure, not only for clubs and bars but also for your lounge sofa.

The album contains sixteen tracks with some interesting great collaborations, with the Dutch vocalist Tonkin on the self titled and intoxicated Ghetto Drunk song, The Time Travellas from Belgium appears on Hipsko with live rhymes recorded with realtime fx, and the multi instrumentalist French artist Leon on Disco Frisco.

In the tracks Kotzak, Yuil Disco Breaks and Hot Spot you can hear the participated musicians: Salomi Vasiliadou (Vocals), Tasos Fotiou (Sax, Flute), Lusty Apricot (Violin on Kotzak), Kimon Pandelides (Guitar on Dubwizejah, Hot Spot, Kotzak), StelX (Guitar on Start With An A), Stoney The Flute (Flute on Chase in the Case), Kostas Kopanaris (Percussions on Kotzak) Dj KomMit (Scratches on Kotzak, Start With An A).

2. Timewarp inc - Ghetto Drunk feat. Tonkin

“Black Roots”, the eponymously named debut album, was originally released in 1983 on Kick Records, by which time the band was established as one of the UK's leading live acts with a strong repertoire of socially aware songs reflecting the issues of the day. When it came to their first album, they chose eight of their strongest tracks and assembled what was to become one of the classic British reggae albums of the decade.

Featuring 8 songs “The Father”, “Survival”, “Juvenile Delinquent”, “What Them 'A Do”, “Opportunity”, “Tribal War”, “Africa” and “Move On”, the album covers themes of social alienation, deprivation, repatriation, RastafarI, violence within the black community and ends, with the tale of a failing relationship. Three decades later, many of the songs are just as relevant and provide the perfect complement to their latest recordings.

It was re-issued Bristol Archive Records on vinyl in 22nd April 2013 to coincide with Record Store Day.  The release on vinyl was strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide. 400 copies were made be available for Record Store Day, 22nd April 2013, at participating retailers and feature a facsimile of the original sleeve, whilst 100 copies will be available directly from Bristol Archive Records and very select retailers and feature a unique handmade screen printed sleeve as well as being individually numbered, a very special edition.

This was the first time that this album was available on vinyl for twenty-five years and demand outstripped supply.

This release was made available by Nubian Records on digital platforms. Here is an opportunity to stream or download either this song or the full album that is still in great demand from old and new fans alike.
