NAIND AR-30 B2 Yeenaldooshi - Spiritsgrief

The two headed dragon of forgiveness was born out of a four month residency in Hanoi, where Noah Rosa had the opportunity to learn from and record seven local musicians and various landscapes in Northern Vietnam. Sampling the artists’ instruments and unique techniques texturally, the use of a ultrasonic microphones was essential for the focus on the invisible details of dragging bow hairs and vibrating reeds. Location recordings were made in dripping caves, serene lotus fields and on the busy streets of Hanoi where the drone of motorbikes is a constant, deafening presence.

Upon returning to his studio in Montreal, the sculpting process of these recordings started with re-shaping them through webs of digital and analog erosion to reveal new spectral shadows—mirroring how the harsh elements shape Northern Vietnam's landscape of worn plaster and lush flora. From these experiments emerged the four phases of this work: dense dronescapes that flow through notions of suffering, emptiness, forgiveness, and ultimately transformation. Finding in the terror and beauty of our living world and its violent cycle of endless dying and rebirth, our great capacity for adaptation and change.

As a companion to this music, artist and creative web developer Jules Galbraith has developed virtual listening rooms, each inhabited by digital sculptures that respond to the work. Within these worlds, the sonic elements have been spatialized, allowing you to uncover new details and perspectives as you move through the virtual space.

low entropy: This is a track I planned to do for 27 years...
Back at age 16, when I had just begun producing, I envisioned doing an oversize track with a runtime of an hour.
But I wanted to avoid the three most common ways to do this:

1. Making a monotonous "drone"-like track with little and slow changes

2. Making a continuous live-jam

3. Making a "megamix" type of track where a succession of mini-tracks fade into each other.

What I wanted to do instead was to create a track with a complex and complicated super-structure. Where themes and sequences are introduced, broken apart, re-called, intermingled...
Where, for example, moments of the first minutes can reappear 40 minutes later, but changed, layered with other elements...
With total chaos but also steady, straight elements...

An ever-changing meta-morphosis and hyper-architecture.

I failed to do this "gigantic" project at age 16.
But slowly, over the years, I gained and collected the necessary abilities and remaining ideas to work on such a task.

And here it is!
