Matt FX is a record producer and DJ born and raised in New York City. From his cheeky and irreverent DJ sets to his production work both in dance music and for artists across the genre spectrum, Matt is known for a signature sound and style affecting everything in his musical path. 
In the past he has released with Kitsuné, Wolf + Lamb, Disco Halal and Sorry Records, and he is currently finishing his debut full length album due for release in Q3 of 2024. Matt is also known for his work in television, both as a music supervisor and on-camera food personality. Soft Drink is a smooth and sensual cut of indie dance overflowing with vibe and oozing with style. 
Marking the first release from Matt FX in 2024, Soft Drink marries a confident pitched down vocal with meek and fluttery vocoder and matches dubbed out, bubbly electronics with pulsing analog synth wizardry. A supremely chilled and refreshing libation, the track is most suitable for illicit trysts, late night drives, and decompressing around the coffee table after a long one out at the club.

AGUACULTURA is the latest release from New York City DJ and Producer Matt FX after a whirlwind year which has seen him performing around the world in 25 cities across 14 countries in Asia and the Americas. This three-track EP is his debut on Mexico City’s Boyanza records and the first of many upcoming releases from his catalog.

The first track Atencion Nosotros features intricately woven hand percussion forming a unique shuffle and foundation for it’s bouncy, rubber band bassline and smooth, spectral synthwork. Written in Mexico City with DJ and vocalist JNGLEJ, the track features her vocals as a kind of call to action: attention everyone- for tonight, everything is different.

Track two, An Elephant in St. Tropez, features a low-slung and deconstructed tribal rhythm just begging for a packed and sweaty outdoor floor, with pan flutes and Matt’s signature synth work crescendo-ing to a bassline reveal befitting of the track’s namesake creature. Culminating with a massive and sleazy 303, the track is a cheeky ode to crowd control specialists like Julio Bashmore and Kyodai.

The EP finishes off with it’s namesake ‘Aguacultura’, a first for Matt as he explores a mostly drumless, borderline ambient synth composition. Produced on a bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo, Aguacultura takes us below the surface with a meditative, relaxed dive into friendly waters.
