This one is released along with an incredible House / Disco / Funky / Sorta Latin (What is it anyway!?) remix by Toribio -- the DJ behind Brooklyn's BDA, and the lead singer/instrumentalist behind live project, Conclave (Love Injection Records). With a funky, tongue-in-cheek vibe, Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue explores themes of vice, ego and heartbreak through tragic characters who can't help but get in their own way.

This month Carhartt WIP Radio welcomes the multidimensional, Brooklyn-based DJ, producer and instrumentalist @toribiomusic. Known for his DJ sets, live shows with his band @conclave_music, and his BDA (Bring Dat Ass) nights, the artist channels different dancefloor-leaning styles — such as house, techno, disco, electro, and hip-hop — into a single genre-less entity.

All of Toribio’s musical expressions are synthesized into dance music, which has seen him rub shoulders with house legends like @joe-clausseel, or Louie Vega (@nuyoricansoulnyc), resulting in them remixing his solo work or music by Conclave. The latter is his live musical assembly, which so far has released one full length album on the New York based label @loveinjection records. 
 
For Carhartt WIP Radio, Toribio prepared a mix that features music he either made or had a part in making, transforming it all into a musical voyage that shows his progress as a musician and displays how all his various musical endeavors are interconnected. Accompanying the show is an interview with Toribio, who shares his thoughts on being pigeonholed as a Latin drummer or keeping New York’s club legacy alive. I Wanna Know (Extended Mix)

My friend showed me this track Step In by Loure and immediately I thought it needed Kendrick's signature vocals and flow on top. The trumpets and the overall vibe remind me of the instrumentals from his album Good Kid, M.a.a.d City.
Originally, I started the project with the intention of a simple mashup, but instead I automated and processed the house song to leave room for Kendrick's most powerful lyrics. 
I still refer to it as a mashup in the title because I don't feel like I changed either track enough to consider it an edit. Also, SEO is important these days lol

Jimpster serves up the first single entitled Crave from ahead of his
forthcoming Silent Stars LP complete with remixes from Atjazz and
Flabaire.

In its original form Crave, which features the vocals from hotly-tipped
Londoner Florence Rawlings, is an emotionally charged electronic torch song guaranteed to get inside your head from the very first listen. The spacey chords and punctuating string stabs bring hints of the 80’s to mind whilst Florence’s gentle vocal floats in the air like a fresh sea breeze.

In addition to the mesmerizing original we present two brilliant and
contrasting remixes from one of the UK’s legendary producers Atjazz as well as Paris‘ rising star Flabaire whose D.KO Records has been dropping gem after gem since 2013. Atjazz spins Crave into outerspace with a fat, driving groove and twisted sonics making for an incredibly deep and forward-looking slice of aural gold. 

In contrast, Flabaire looks back to the early 00’s for his classic soulful house rework which calls to mind the sounds of Spinna and vintage Naked Music. Closing the release we have another original track entitled Where You Are featuring Berlin based US native Khalil Anthony. Here we find Jimpster doing what he does best, creating a sublime late night club track with his deft musical touch making this one that will stand out in the crowd.
