It is with excitement and pride that Touch of Class Records unveils the music of Fovus Loîr — the new moniker of Daniel Gardner (aka Frivolous), an internationally renowned live performer, producer, DJ and classically trained pianist, hailing from Canada’s West Coast. With forty releases and over a dozen 12”s to his name, Gardner’s latest EP, “Missing Pieces” showcases three original songs with vocals by the artist himself and remixes by San Francisco hometown heroes, PillowTalk and Dave Aju.

The EP’s lead track, "The Pieces That I'm Missing,” is laid down with sonic orchestration and intoxicating, loved-up vocals that will have you grooving along effortlessly — a perfect tune to be dropped on any dance floor. The PillowTalk lads’ rework comes dressed in their signature bass lines and silky melodies — emphasizing the track’s warm string arrangements, chopping up the vocals bringing a new aesthetic to the original composition.

The second original track on this release, "Pieces,” presents a more dubbed-out, minimal feel than the first version — with heavier bass lines, ethereal synths and pads, gently setting a deep and bouncy groove for the delighted listener. Also included is a reconstruction of the tune by Berlin-based, San Francisco transplant, Dave Aju, whose Acid-House interpretation transports the listener to an underground warehouse — a perfect peak-time track that will have any speakers pumping.

Touch of Class has also included a bonus track on this EP release — ”Moments For A Day.” The tune is delivered in true Frivolous fashion, a two-step mashup with heavy bass, strictly for the heads.

“Missing Pieces” release as a whole represents the diversity in sound eluted with a sense of fantasy, imagination and personality — an auditory aesthetic that both Fovus Loîr and Touch of Class Records continuously strives to embody. This solid collection of masterfully composed tunes, promises to reward any DJ's crate or playlist.

Rich NxT, one of FUSE’s core residents, returns for his fourth EP on the FUSE London label. Set for release in April, the ‘Wasteline EP’ sees him build upon his fine earlier work with another mesmerizing journey through expertly crafted underground sounds. 

Title track ‘Wasteline’ is an impressive opener, which stretches over seven glorious dubbed out minutes. The track is characterised by its infectious groove, which rolls along at a steady pace and is complemented by expertly placed distorted sounds and vocal snippets. ‘Instate’ continues in a similar vein, but this time warm reverb pads shine through darkness of the crisp percussion. With distorted vocal fragments and echoing cowbells added to the equation at just the right moments, the clever arrangement results in a totally engrossing and hypnotic track. ‘Daybreak’ – is another functional dance-floor weapon, with heavy bass, sharp drums and echoes ringing throughout, these sounds all combine to create a deeper-than-deep eyes closed heads down vibe that is a perfect fit for the FUSE dancefloor.

Rounding off the EP is remix of ‘Wasteline’ under their acclaimed Kilimanjaro project. While the dubby essence of the original remains, the duo instantly stamp their mark on the record through raising the BPM with razor sharp percussion and adding sublime deep bass and warm soaring synths which wash over the punchy beat.

On the ‘Wasteline EP’ Rich demonstrates his considerable production prowess and as expected from one of FUSE’s most trusted residents it contains all the elements that one would associate with the much-loved FUSE sound: deep dubby house and techno of the highest order, rich in details and sound. The ‘Wasteline EP’ leaves listeners eagerly anticipating Rich’s next output and hearing the release on the dancefloor.

Three years on from 2011’s These Sounds, Ross’ latest offering showcases his ability to adapt, and to continue making solid, upfront house music. 

The first of the two-tracker, Let It Go, kicks off proceedings by fusing soulful vocals with an infectious bassline, culminating in a blistering workout for the dance-floor.  This is balanced perfectly by the more peak-time This Is Carcosa over on the B side, which really showcases Ross’ effortless talent.  This Is Carcosa binds eerie vocals with a solid, jacking groove to round off what may be a package of Ross Evan’s best work to date.
