Touch of Class Records is proud to present “Once Upon A Time” an EP recorded by producer, vocalist, DJ, Navid Izadi. Hailing from San Francisco, Navid Izadi makes it an art to combine multiple influences in his music, his earlier experiences constantly resonating through his productions. Here he brings us a two-part track, with remixes by Tone of Arc and Kenneth Scott. Recorded in the Lower Haight district of San Francisco, this EP is the imprints fourth release, heralding the musical qualities that the label stays true to: a combination of sophisticated and eclectic rhythms executed with style and poise.

Part one of the original track is laid down with a moogy bass line and met with classic 808 style percussion textures mixed with provocative vocals and laughter about a night out-- taking us on a groovy ride through the colorful and transient streets of San Francisco. Part two evolves from a sexy and playful escapade to a stripped back, dreamy after-thought with the sounds of a xylophone in the background and Tone of Arc delivers a 303 bass line remix that electrifies. Kenneth Scott’s remix delivers an early 90s vibe taking it back similar to the classic sound of The Orb’s Little Fluffy Clouds Cumulonimbus Mix by Pal joey. The entire EP embodies a family affair with contributions by all San Francisco bred artists.

This last year was a big one for Izadi with releases on Wolf & Lamb & Soul Clap Records, but his creative output doesn’t stop there. Besides performing live, Dj’ing and producing quality tracks, Navid Izadi has done vocals featured on tracks alongside Deniz Kurtel, Soul Clap, Signal Flow, and close friends PillowTalk.

Solace (Thylacine Remix)

 Its been just a few months ago, Rampa carved his last EP-notch into the Keinemusik-release-tally. But here he goes again, delivering his second KM-offering this year, an almost prophetically headlining track called "Newborn Soul".

This tune is virtually the score to the current situation of its creator. A lurking, tension building piece thats coping without a kickdrum for more than 50 %% of its running time, just to place it in floor-shaking boost in the exact perfect moment. A percussion and synth-flavoured build-up somewhere between tool-characteristics and stylish peaktime-emphasis, thats rising like phoenix from the ashes.

"Mascha" on the flip can be appreciated as a classical Rampa. Analogue sounding, washed out intro, irresistible tribal-grooves including analogue filter and delay-rides, percussive cushioning and folkloristic chants that will invoke nothing else but rowdy floor-ecstasy in this context.

Benedikt Frey, german producer, DJ and founder of the Label Love Pain Sunshine & Rain (abbreviated Lopasura), grew up in times of accelerated technological change during the late 90's but with the static view of the beautiful black forrest surrounding his hometown.

Due to releases on Mule Electronics, Ethereal Sound and Live at Robert Johnson, Frey outlined his own interpretation of house music. Well arranged phasing patterns and blending harmonic motives define his sound signature.

Frey is definitely playing, with expectations, during his DJ sets there is always that turning twist when the tension that was built up so gently is suddenly cooling down to make space for the final culmination. As producer, DJ and Label owner Benedikt Frey is keen to be a part of this static movement in music culture.

Today, we present the Benedikt Frey remix of Kenneth Scott's 'If The Rain Stops These Ruthless Acts', which keeps the originals sense of epic wonder, but with the help of his own break beat drum rhythm, things go down a slightly darker path. Replacing the looped notation of the originals lead sound with textured synth parts washed in reverb, he creates further depths and atmosphere. As the structure develops the parts strip back and the pads disperse, whilst the intensity builds. Slowly reintroduced, the now pulsating pads help bring the track to its crescendo and this work of art is brought to a close in fine style.

Following up on the success of 3PO's original mix, which was reminiscent of the late 90s NY Tribal Prog House, we brokered some Tech House talent to offer up some new dimensions of "Follow the Sun".
San Francisco local Kenneth Scott (Nightlight Music, Auralism) delivers a very heady and moody track that is driven by its deep and bouncy bass line.
Chicago producers Jason Patrick & Max Jacobson (Klectik Records) give us a deep number that is anchored by its massive kick drum. Seriously, it's a huge kick. :)
Little Rock, Arkansas native Bobby Rainmaker (Mindtribe) offers a pounding version that is not for the faint of heart.

Mo's Ferry presents a brand new super groovy house EP by [a]pendics.shuffle and Dilo. Two years ago their first release on the label was filed under their alter ego Cascabel Gentz. Now, after making the decision to reveal themselves to us, the new tracks feel even more personal and heart warming. On the A side is the driving but also kind of trippy "Wonderful Wonderfall". Dapayk's remix adds more definition to the track and moves it towards the techy department. The deep "Drifting Away" on the B side impresses with beautiful laid-back vocals embedded in a dreamy cloud of slowly spinning pads. Kenneth Scott partly waived the deepness to give room for extensive and creative bassline work. This is another wide range Mo's Ferry release.
