A 90 minute set played for Sound Ceremony. A beautiful expression of intentional sound held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. 

Sound Ceremony

I was honored to be asked by my favorite artist Pretty Lights to create a mix for Yahn Dawn at Meadow Creek in Buena Vista, Colorado as part of its Holographic Uplink radio program, which played a variety of PLF content all weekend on the Lucid Stream and in the festival's Luminescent Grove.

Yahn Dawn was an astounding celebration of love, music, community and beauty; and I aimed to capture at least a sliver of that moment in this mix. It contains a variety of vibes, energy levels and genres such as soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, glitch, electro and bass. At its core is "electro soul," a genre and musical community that's based in Denver, Colorado but radiates far beyond. I hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to Heart Recovery!

It's a Drum and Bass LOVE Experience!  Please take a ride on this high energy rollercoaster of love, joy, and deep emotions!  It's been a turbulent time for me these past couple of months, where I had wonderful experiences of love and dark times of depression.  I'm so grateful for it all, as I have learned a lot and grown so much.  

During this time I really fell in love with Drum & Bass music. I find this music to be so incredible at harnessing emotion in a way that is moving, uplifting, and fun to flow with.  It was hard to be creative these recent times of depression, but I am grateful for all the highs, lows, twists and turns of life that brought me here.  Through these experiences I was able to let go of something, perhaps many things, that were holding me back and preventing me from expressing myself.  This is my first Drum & Bass mix that I've released, and it's just the way I like it: perfectly imperfect.  I'm so excited to continue to learn and improve and share my journey with you.

This summer I broke my leg and spent two months without using it. I used the time to record this mix, something a little chiller than my usual flavours. No matter what you are recovering from an injury or a hangover, I hope it's a full recovery at whatever speed is necessary.

DLW Presents: Slow Recovery

If you didn't already know snapsforbae is a passion project (mix) that I release annually on Valentine's Day. As of this year I've decided to release one in the summer as well. This will be year 6. 
Each track selected for these mixtapes are chosen with a great deal of care and intention. That, being my personal emotions about how I'm feeling that day, week, hour & how the world inspires me to be a better person and work through my pain & triumphs in a healthy way free from substances. It feels like my intentional diary. The reason these take so long to make is because once I hit a block I  don't try to force a song to fit, I wait till the universe brings me one. Each time the right track comes along I feel the hair raise on my neck and there's a sensation of jubilance. 

This year we have been through so much and because of this bumpy ride the hurt & happiness and everything in-between is prominent within 006. This is where the second title #loveyourself comes from. 
February is Black History Month and this year's theme is "The Future Is Now" 

Black history month is about honoring the enormous contributions that Black people have made and continue to make in all sectors of society. It's  about celebrating their incredible innovation, resilience and determination to create a more inclusive Canada. One where we all have the opportunity to be seen and flourish. 
 If you've listened to any of my music you know it's very apparent that RNB is my favorite genre of them all.

I want to celebrate and acknowledge the Strong Black Men & Women who have contributed and made snapsforbae become such a treasure to my heart.
