30 Years HAMdj (NL) 1993-2023 - Part 12  (dj Hammink vs MCX Live @ Scum Katwijk, New Years Party '02-'03)
(Hardstyle 1998-2002)

For the 12th and final part of the 30 Years HAMdj show i digged up a set that's has a very special place 
in my memories. 

New Years Eve 2002-2003. Almost 21 years ago. My first big preformance, 2500 people. 
Most of them local. So i knew a lot of them haha. 
These days i was playing mostly Hardstyle and it was at the time that i got more and more gigs and build op a reasonable
name in the amateur scene. Was resident at the House in Scum party's (Been this for 17 years total, 1994-2011)
We did this party's ones a month, 2 local dj's and 1 famous one. And in the Harder Styles we had them all.

But the New Years party at the Scum Katwijk, The Netherlands was on my wishlist for a few years allready. 
Played the party 2 times before but this was before 12 o'clock. And most visitors came after 12. They did the wishes
at home with the family and than came to the party. So at prime time was on my Bucket List.

This year it was that time. My friend Aad Hickman came with the idea to be the MC for my set.
Normaly not a fan of MC's but he is a friend so i thought why not. Didn't played as HAMdj yet so we decided for that night.

Must say, he was more a HipHop kind of guy so he didn't knew most of the tracks and he never preformed on stage before
which was a big part in the Cult status this set got in our area and especialy in our friend group.
And still we talk about it all those years later.
It became know as the "wissle incident"!! Listen to the set and you will understand. 

We where kind of nervous that day, so told ourselfs to be sober, it worked untill around 11 that night.
Than we desided to take 1 beer for the nerves. So when we had to prefore at 0315 we where waisted as fuck.
But we rocked it. It was the first time the whole crouwd jumped left to right and from the frond to the back.
This was kind of unique because most of them didn't even liked the Harder Styles. But Aad fueled them with his voice.
And he wasn't even good, far from good. But it worked, we tore the place down!

By far 1 of the best party's i ever played. So many good memories of this night by listening to this set again.

This time the first set I ever recorded on MiniDisc!
Almost 23 years ago.
Set never made it further than the MiniDisc I recorded it on.

It's a Hard Trance and a really Early Hardstyle set. Well not all really Early Hardstyle 
but some of the records created the path to Hardstyle for me!!
Also, the labels BXR, Nuklez and definitely Tracid Traxxx showed me a new style.
As they continue to get harder and harder.
The Harder Trance parts of the tracks became known as Hardstyle a few years later.

At least this is my memory of how the musical journey went for me in those days.
Hardcore was a bit fading out for me to play at that moment in time so I searched for a new style.
And Hardstyle became it for me.

This months show Viktor Gambon brings some of his favorite Techno Tracks from the last 2 years
Heavaly infected by labels as Green Fetish Records, Pure Hate, Broken Stain Records, Genosha Basic, Perc and so on.
And artists like Mickey Nox, Ghost In The Machine, Tymon, Perc, Cancel are some of his favorites at this time.

It's a journey in the harder side of the modern techno.
Heavy Techno combined with Dark melodies in a more tha 2 and a half hour mix with 74 tracks.
Trying to mix 2 tracks for as long as possible every transition only letting the short breaks being 1 track.
Starting the new track directly after or even allready in to the break.
Leaves in no room for pre beatmatching so it isn't perfect but for me the set worked out realy nice.
Really love this kind of music! And always been a fan of mixing as many track in the set i can fit!!

She combines energetic industrial drops with hypnotic vocals within her musical style. Drawing influences from disco, rap, melodic house, melodic techno, and rhythmic tech house, she creates a captivating atmosphere for her audience.

Big Beat Radio: EP #91 - DONT BLINK (SPACE DANCE Mix)

In the beginning of last year the world looked quite different. Coincidence had just come out of hibernation and we wanted to get back into the game with a bomb. So, our buddy Remy-x came up with the 'Bodyfication EP'. We had three tracks and one remix by Psytox and although we believed and loved the tracks, we didn't have much hope that people would pick up on it in those trying times when everyone was playing the same stuff and everyone was looking for The Next Big Thing. 

And then it happened: first, Marika Rossa got on board when she pushed 'Konzentriert' and later 'CTRL-X'. I Hate Models really caught everyone's attention when he blasted 'The Body' everywhere. Unfortunately that alo started a shitstorm that unintentionally helped to push the track to stardom. An adapted version became the biggest hit to date for Coincidence. A year after the release, our friend Amelie Lens rediscovered the track giving it a second lease on life that catapulted it to the number one spot on Beatport for 6 weeks straight. 

So here we are: again ready to reboot Coincidence for another season and again we start with Remy-x. This time, we have 4 remixes for you that each have a very different vibe and all are uncompromising to say the least!  The remixers? Austria's super producing duo Niereich & Shadym. Belgian hardcore and techno demi-God Tripped. The Wir Tanzen boss Man Outta Space in collab with one of Techno's most interesting talents Don Woezik. And the fourth by our returning favo talent from Holland: Cynkt.

Robbert-Jan vd Plas is a Dutch dj from Katwijk aan zee born in 1980.

At the age of 9 he received his first 2 vinyls.
Turn Up The Bass 1 and 2. It was the year 1989.
First track he listened to was Pump Up The Jam, after the first beats he was hooked.
Since then he was always listening to fresh new beats.
In 1993 he decided to save the little money that he could get to buy the records that he liked
and try to mix them. Starting with 1 turntable (Without pitch) and 1 cd player.
1 year later he visited his first houseparty (Nightmare in Rotterdam) and then he knew it, he wanted to be an dj.

So from then on he bought more and more vinyl and at 14 got his first residency at a local youghtcentre.
For 3 years he was the hardest dj there and from all over the village the young boys and girls came to dance on his Hardcore beats

After that 3 years he stopped his residency and got his first gig at the HOUSE in SCUM party's in Katwijk and when he was around 20 years old
he they asked him to be a resident at the party's once a month. He continued that untill 2011 when he was 31 years old.

In between he played at a lot of small clubs and small party's in the whole of the Netherlands and a few in Begium and Germany also.
Still only as an Amateur.

In this period he also spinned at some local radioshows and even got an invite to play at the Old School Generation on Radio Fresh FM 
hosted by dj Norman where spinned some an vinyl Old School set.  Also been a resident at D.O.T.F. radio. 
An internet old school radiostation where the rules are "Fuck Hokjes" so there will be mostly spinned underground old school records.  
Other residents of the show are dj Sneaky-d (founder of the staion), Jeff London, dj Vince an dj Stylo. 
Unfortunaly the show stopped after 10 years.   

Since 2011 things where running a bit slower due of the birth of his daughter Yara in november 2011, his son Finley in September 2013 and 
daughter Jaxy in februari 2015. Hey stopped with Scum in 2011 after an 11 year recidency. Bookings went down and he didn't preformed a lot after that.  
Few small party's like the Early Ravers United party's. Biggest gigs since then where Fucking Basterds in Culemburg in 2012 and 
Vinyl Syndrome V · Limita'd Edition Moscou Russia in 2016.  Nowdays due of Facebook Groups and Facebook Live more and more sets are being braodcasted around the web.
He has done 4 shows on Hard Shock radio Italy, mostly Early Hardcore. And multiple shows on Toxic Sickness since 2018.
This was all as HAMdj and in the styles Hardcore, Early Hardcore, Hardstyle and Old School.

2018 he started a Podcast serie with a friend (dj Exomni) called The Dark Chronicles in courtesy of Annihilation.
The Dark Chronicles offers mixes in the Harder Mainstream, Millenium, Crossbreed, Industrial and Doomcore. (No Uptemo or Terror!!)
Brought by a variety of fine artists.

But after discovering the Dark Techno at the end of 2018 he created this alter ego Viktor Gambon.
And started a sideshow podcast called the Dark Techno Sessions.

So pretty new to the Techno scene he is mixing this with his own vision.
Not excluding anything. So influences from the Rave, Acid or Classic scene.
Expect no limits or boundaries in his sets. They will go up and down but you never know when and where it will end!

In curtesy of Toxic Sickness he, togheter with his good friend Denny Spek aka Spek FM, will create a new show called Classics, Techno, Rave & Bits.
Where they will combine multiple styles and try to create an Dark Atmosfear in each set.
Not refusing any style. But mostly it will be Slow and Dark.
