Today we’re joined by Berlin-based dj & producer, Philip Budny. With a handful of beautiful EPs to his name on Coastal Haze, Lionoil Industries and Let’s Play House, Philip Budny specialises in lazy, sun-kissed house music. With summer on the horizon and sun-kissed music being exactly what we need, he’s helped us out with a mix of his favourite tunes.

While we had him here, we took to opportunity to have a chat with Philip about living in Berlin as a house music producer, how he goes about making his tracks and the importance of functionality in house music.

It became clear to us, after an intensive exchange of music, that our taste is as diverse as the music selection in our shop. Heavily influenced by listening to hip hop, Jona's developed a great passion for collecting vinyl and to become a DJ. “The music must be danceable - like disco with edits’ and of course some house influences too.” That is somehow the sound of the legendary ‘Velvet Party Events’. Velvet is the radio, that Jonas has been curating, on Soundcloud, for almost 3 years. Some well-known, talented artists have performed their music here, including Lusja, Jamal F or Louis Largo.
