Fred Everything and Trevor Walker have been friends since the mid 90s, sharing the decks countless times in various venues in Canada including at Mercury Lounge in Ottawa where they both held a residency, weekly for Trevor and bi-yearly for Fred. They became known for their 4 decks and 2 mixers sessions. The friendship and mutual respect goes deep. Fred often cites Trevor as one his favorite DJs in the world. Known for his wide knowledge of music and his passion for playing seemlessly through various styles, always with mastery. They recently got together in the studio. First for a remix on Lazy Days (Coco “Cognac” Brown) and now for 2 EPs on Compost. The first one is E.S.M. (Earth, Sun, Moon) inspired by classic Deep Dubby House sound from the late 90s, and featuring a remix by Fred’s close friend and collaborator Atjazz, who turned this one out with his unique magic touch. The second EP will be out in 2022, more on an Afro tip, featuring DaLata singer/collaborator Diabel Cissokho, with an additional remix from Art Of Tones.

It's a pleasure to induct KaySoul, the talented House DJ/record producer from Johannesburg, SA, into the Apparel Music roster. His three-track EP called The World's Going Crazy EP, out in May, is the perfect way to join the AM family in great fashion. Creativity, innovation and a tireless will to improve his sounds are the hallmarks of his efforts and it shows in this record, where he blends many different musical styles (from Soul to House, R&B, Lo-Fi) giving birth to a unique EP, which embodies his great qualities as a producer. ‘The World's Going Crazy EP’ also includes Disney Bailey’s vocals in the first (and title) track and a ‘Groove mix’of the second original track ‘4 Tops Drive’ by Rephlex’s 923.

Felipe Gordon comes back to Toy Tonics. The Colombian musician, producer and DJ has been part of the TT label crew since 2017 when he released his debut "Teusaquillo EP". Since then Felipe has made a huge career. He made a second EP for Toy Tonics (Wait On Me, 2020) he now releases on labels such as Heist Recordings, Kai Alce’s NDATL, Clone Royal Oak, Phonica Records, Shall Not Fade and was featured on Cinthie’s DJ Kicks.

With his third  EP on Toy Tonics Felipe now takes a next big step in his artistic development.
He's been working for some months now on a new and organic path, a different way of vocal house. He started working with a talented young Colombian singer called “Bob The Egoist” AKA Daniel Pardo. Bob is a young Berklee degree student with a deep and emotional voice, an amazing knowledge about the classic soul and RnB and a clever and enthusiastic way of writing chord progressions, you will hear his name more often than you can imagine in the next coming months.

This new Felipe Gordon EP has a more organic driven feel, and is definitely a vocal house record. With a lot of classic 1990's house feel, but still not sounding retro at all. It has a slight futuristic feel. Besides the great vocal ideas the tracks are based on amazing chord progressions that remind the jazz-funk music from the early 1970's. Rhodes and clavinets, wah wahs and a nasty, soulful atmosphere. Felipe did some heavenly synth work, creating music with a deep yet funky character - always punchy and analog. Felipe’s production style seems to be exploring new grounds.

The music was recorded in 2 weeks only in December 2021. And probably that’s one of the reasons why these tracks don't sound over-produced. The instant, rolling feel gives the songs its special character.

Felipe has a European DJ tour coming from June till July so catch him somewhere near your city!

'Never failing to maintain positivity and balmy vibes - Tensnake presents the latest EP on his own label True Romance.

Following releases from Jozef K, 3kelves, Dylan C. Greene and Steve Mill, Geraldine - which came bolstered with the boss himself - the latest offering on True Romance is a quintessential example of makes the label so omni-appreciated.

Here - Oslo based artist Henrik Villard offers up 4 beautiful grooves, stripped down to the bare minimum: well crafted drums and deftly selected samples all suffused with an irresistible amber glow.
'I See U' kicks things off with a jubilant, circling sample which is filtered and panned as it fleshes out a crispy House back bone. ‚Breezin - Fall In Love' then follows up with more smiley sampling which is underpinned by a thick, rumbling sub.

'Love Forever Stands' then sets field recordings and shuffling rim-shots over a cosy kick drum as another sunny sample bleeds into the mix. Sax samples and neat vocal cuts pepper the track in a manner that recalls some of the finest Smallville records before 'While You Are Here' closes things up.

Script samples, clever arrangement and simple-but-effective loops shine through and bring an exultant collection of floor-fillers to a heart-warming conclusion'.'
