The "Jamz" imprint from our friends @slothboogie returns this July with Soul Wun @soulwun "Fragments EP", including this beautiful remix from Jesse Bru @jesse-bru 

Australia’s Soul Wun is a young skater making beautiful sun soaked deep house jams, previously for the likes of 13th Hour, House Cookin’, Feedasoul, Clipp.art and of course SlothBoogie where he returns here following his appearance on the first "Dancing With Friends" compilation.  

Opening the release is "Piero’s Strings", merging twinkly piano lines and cinematic strings with winding bass grooves and organic drums. "Japan Theme" follows next, fusing hazy brass licks, a walking bass line and jazz keys with a swinging drum groove and spoken word Japanese samples.  

Opening the B-side of the release is "Lily Flower (Adele)", laying focus on an amalgamation of warm piano tones, a swinging rhythm and plucked bass tones throughout. "Sun Lady Statement" is up next, taking things in a more acid jazz direction via broken percussion, psychedelic guitar licks and hypnotic, poetic vocal chants. Lastly to round out the release Houseum and Axe On Wax artist Jesse Bru delivers his twist on "Lily Flower (Adele)", bringing a Deep House aesthetic to the table courtesy of shuffled drums and driving low end, while the original’s ethereal textures ebb and flow within.

The South London based Church imprint continue their output of quality house and techno music with the next instalment of their white label series from neighbour Laurence Guy. According to his bio, Laurence was “raised by strippers in the dressing room of a Chicago lapdancing club with only a stack of Prince records for company.” While we can’t confirm that, the maker of punchy house music has certainly got our attention. Taken from his upcoming EP of the same name, i-D exclusively share Kojak. The smooth summertime jam eases you in with the gentlest of percussion, synth whirs and chimes, before drums and blissfully distorted bass holds your hand all the way to groove town. Press play.

“Stolen Lips” comes across like a dusty blues riff dropped into a modern club setting: expressive guitar phrases on top, with a straight, pulsing house groove locking everything in place. It feels both gritty and polished—old-school bite paired with clean electronic drums and a steady low-end push. Instead of big melodic statements, it builds momentum through tension and repetition, letting small changes hit harder. The vibe is focused and kinetic, like a late-night drive through neon streets where every corner adds a little more heat. It’s the kind of track that keeps you moving without needing to shout.

Story:
He used to be very happy with her, but then another man came and took her away. It feels like this stranger stole the most beautiful thing he had: her smile and her soft lips. He doesn't understand how everything broke apart so quickly, and now he feels lonely and empty inside.

Whenever he hears the music now, he immediately thinks of her. He imagines her kissing the other man, and it hurts him deeply. To him, her lips are like a lost treasure that he will never get back. He is left all alone with only the sad memory of the time when she was still his.

Stolen Lips

Loure is 22 year old, Melbourne based producer Thomas Guida. Deriving influence from a vast range of musical outfits, he delivers a refreshing take on his interpretation of Deep House. With the qualities of heavy flowing beats accompanied by smooth melodies and intricate brass, Loure takes inspiration from the forever progressive Melbourne music scene, delivering a unique mix of remarkably original and touching music. "Westside Movements" was written, produced and recorded on the inner skirts of Melbourne’s western suburbs. Gaining heavy influence from ongoing cultural movements currently gracing the streets of Footscray, the surrounding abandoned warehouses and the banks of the Maribyrnong River, this record is an Ode to the West and the joy, unity, and enlightenment it has and continues to provide to myself and all of those who choose to embrace its hidden beauties. Jazz-House phenom Tour Maubourg, makes his debut on emerging French house label 'Happiness Therapy' with a 5 track EP which includes 2 remixes by house music hero 'Art Of Tones'. Felipe Gordon from Bogota is one of THE names right now in the jazz infected house & broken beat scene that is growing so much these days. This is his 2nd EP on Toy Tonics and its a step forward for him musically: he started to include more vocals and worked with colombian vocalist Paula Pedraza. Gordon’s music is special: with his background as a colombian (with that great heritage of musicianship that the country has) and as a indie rock musician (he used to play in bands for years) - he has a very own vibe. His tracks have much more groove than lot of the sample based stuff you get to hear currently.. and his production style is more variable and musically interesting than lots of other stuff outside. Check these 4 new tracks. Especially the 2nd tool, wich adds some freshness to the current disco vibe: Binging in a punkfunk bassline that could have been made in 2005 from Disco-Not-Disco artists like Chicken Lips, Headman or Playgroup. This is Post - 90ies - Revival music :)
