Extrablood is a multidisciplinary Internet artist who has been working with many collectives and labels such as the Berlin-based @tremorsrecords, the Chilean @hibrid-x, and more. Moving between abstract visual outings and experimental electronics, their knife-sharp music is characterized by deconstructed rhythms and biomechanical sounds combined with intense percussive elements, noise, and distorted grime. Today, we're happy to present you with Extrablood's contribution to our GUESTMIX series, which is a 29 minutes long mix loaded with hard rave anthems, decolonized club, and digital experimentation. This week we're all about "low-end hitters and dancehall business", as the Warsaw-based DJ and vocalist hermeneia is at the helm of our Rhythmic Culture podcast. Not only is she running the FURDA event series – she's also associated with Unsound Festival and holds down a regular show on LYL and Noods Radio. In the 46-minute journey she delivers, hermeneia takes you into the head-wobbly realms of soundsystem music – this one will be on repeat for a while.

Erótica Castro is a versatile producer, DJ, and audiovisual designer based in Buenos Aires, who is also a co-founder of the influential record label @santasedelabel. Recognized for his work on labels such as @muakk.xoxo, @rawaclub, @radiorea, and @nofutureb3rl1n, he has released tracks and mixtapes that explore the fusion of various musical genres.

In this mix, he invites us on a journey through the Santa Sede catalog combined with his own tracks. From slow rhythms to dizzying speeds, he merges breakbeats and dembow with experimental sounds.

Santa Sede, based in Buenos Aires, is a pioneering netlabel in experimental club music, led by Erótica Castro and JM Croce. Its musical palette spans a spectrum of Latin American sounds, both urban and folkloric, alongside experimental elements and the ethos of rave culture, all elevated with subtle touches of autotune.

Following on from the odd pair of sox that was OddSox Vol. 1, we have been busy curating our next journey and we have recruited some fine talent to guide us on this ride. We go across the globe, straddle the stratosphere before going on an interstellar adventure.

Leading the way is Switzerland's M44K. Gaining a proper reputation online for his sublime edits and lo fi cuts (his recent E-Beamz release with DJ Seinfield for example), we have caught M44K on a serious deep exploration with infectious bassline and dreamy pads. We couldn't think of a better way to lift off OddSox Vol. 2 than 'Marsone'.

Parisian, Larry Houl, follows up with 'Algerian Flag on the Moon. Another elbow moving bassline that you'll be humming nonstop and some sumptuous, glorious pads . Working closely with Flabaire in Secret Value Orchestra, Larry shows he is absolutely one to look out for on the solo tip also!

Flipping over on to the B, let your mind and soul wander with ‘Mesta'. With a delightful release on Blind Jacks Journey recently and his own label dropping serious heat from Harrison BDP soon, Aleksandir delivers a devine blend of dream house and rough, rugged, rumbling bass.

Bringing us back down to earth is a man from Portland, who is on some serious form. Coming to our attention with last year’s release on 100% Silk, Akasha System’s deep and dark ‘Astral Jam’ ends the cosmic trip with a bang.

No stranger to the dance floor and the Rave Scout Movement, Leesh was one of our first initiated scouts to join our troops three years ago on the main-stage dancefloor of Sustain-Release. Born in Upstate New York, Leesh has been a speaker freak for over 10 years. In 2017, she moved to Chicago to explore her passion further after participating in the 'Walking & Falling DJ Mentorship Program' concentrated on women-identifying & non-binary artists. Inspired by this, Leesh founded multiple platforms; one of which, Daisychain Podcast, is focused on foregrounding women-identifying & non-binary talents to celebrate intersectionality in dance music. This rave scout channels her wholesome energy to communicate deep emotions through the atmosphere of her sound; both the dark and the light.

Miss Jay's (@jockey_jay) evocative DJ style has a unique narrative quality, flowing seamlessly between aesthetics, moods and textures. Currently based in Amsterdam, her residency at Groningen's OOST club has functioned as the springboard for her seamless sonic explorations through genres, colours, tones and temperatures.

With notable recent performances at festivals including Dekmantel Selectors and Into the Woods, plus numerous performances at cult clubs including De School, Tresor, Radion, and beyond, Miss Jay is a star on the rise.

Patterns of Perception 55 is a testament to her emotionally nuanced, storytelling style – a deep, sophisticated immersion into bass, breakbeat, and drum and bass music.
