Portokoll J is Manchester based DJ Joseph Eckersall: his passion for all things 'house' is unrivaled. Attending festivals and underground nights out frequently, to say he has his finger on the pulse is an understatement. Portokoll J's passion began in adolesence where his diverse music tastes became evident whilst mixing mainstream classics with underground soul and house; he has only recently taken back to the decks.

Currently serving in the RAF, he is looking for his first residency wherever possible to share his eclectic taste in house music. From massively dry, big room beats to the chilled basslines of tech house, he plays across the range of genres; playing some of the newest songs before they're even released. Portokoll J became friends with one of Manchester's hottest new prospects, 'Bitch' resident Reworked Robot  a.k.a Adrian Jones: since they met in early 2012, they have shared music often. After returning to the decks Adrian/Reworked Robot has become Portokoll J's mentor. Collaborating with another good friend and work colleague, Newcastle based DJ Stuart Sullivan they've often played together and 'tag team' in sets.

Portokoll J has played in bars in his hometown of Oldham and at college parties back in 2007, he recently played at, 'I won't tell...' in Alnwick near his RAF base in Northumberland. He is looking to gain experience from doing live sets. The buzz surrounding his mixes is building and with lofty ambition of headlining at 'Creamfields' in his sights, give yourself the opportunity of being able to say you were there in the beginning!
