I'm happy to unveil the first episode of my new show, "Collective Memory" on @radioalhara with a first guest, the incredible @stella-zekri-ouiddir 🌹

Collective Memory embodies an artistic testament amidst humanitarian turmoil, a resounding call for Life woven intricately with melodies and frequencies, steadfast in its reminder of music's most noble duty: to unveil truth.

In homage to the foundation of this radio and to preserve purpose within this endeavor, I'm inviting those who dared to raise their voices and unite to scream the truth.

While some seek to detach the human from the artist, I anchor intention as the essence of this concept, therefore empowering guests to express themselves in any form they choose.

For this inaugural episode, I'm happy to invite Paris-born, Berlin-based (who also happens to be Algerian 🇩🇿♥️) selector, @stellasnacks whose sound perfectly reflects her being : a fearless spirit, uncovering harmony amidst diversity, seeking beauty in every moment.

As the founder of @body_language_bln and a resident DJ at Cocktail D'amore, she reigns as the queen of extended sets, a masterful storyteller capable of uniting all on the dancefloor.

With division, wars, genocides, violence, and despair filling up so much of our lives, I need to nurture my inner sanctum with energy and frequencies that keep my spirit alive, so I made this mix. 

An hour of sounds dedicated to strengthening the spirit through emotional release and energetic care.

Raised in Tunis and now based between Brussels and Milan, @samarchepa embodies the essence of our Mediterranean heritage, where food and music are central to cultural expression and boundaries are meant to be surpassed.

Excelling in experimental bass, jungle, breaks, leftfield, and electronica, SAMAR transgresses traditional dancefloor codes with her dynamic range from visceral ambient to blood-pumping percussions.

As a food curator and music selector, she blends flavors as skillfully as she does tunes, creating an atmosphere that reflects the warmth and poetry of her Mediterranean soul.

This year, she launched @bouiboui_catering , a catering project that elevates the culinary experience by exploring vibrant and soulful cuisine 🥘

I've always believed that artists reach their highest form when their presence dissolves, becoming a conduit for collective energy. In that state, it’s not about performing for others but rather with them, transcending individuality to create something profoundly shared.

For today’s episode of Collective Memory on @radioalhara , I’m thrilled to host @sweetnightjoe (Joseph Russell)—a British-Italian (Napoletano!) DJ, music selector, and producer whose work has resonated across labels like @early_sounds_recordings , Rett Fletta, and Bio Rhythm.

In 2020, he brought a new dimension to his artistry by signing to @peggygou_ 's @gudurecords with his techno project JRMS, but his primary focus remains Sweetnighter, the monthly club night he’s been curating in London since 2018.

Held in iconic venues like @brilliant_cnrs , @giant___steps , @nighttalesldn , and @thejagodalston , Sweetnighter captures the essence of early dance gatherings with its vibrant, borderless grooves.

With over 15 years of DJing and record collecting, Joseph’s passion for the organic sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s shapes his sets, making every performance a unique journey.

I started out by DJing house parties and cocktail bars in Paris almost 14 years ago, with labels like Sublime Frequencies and Sahel Sounds as some of my first sources of inspiration. When I first came across ‘Music from Saharan Cellphones’ circa 2011, I would have never imagined I’ll get to work for the label. This mix is my tribute to those early parties, digging some of the lesser known/electronic tracks from the @sahelsounds catalogue.

We might be in different cities right now, but I’m sure we all need something to refresh our bodies and souls..a special mixtape to share with loved ones, a slice of 🍉 in hand, the Mediterranean breeze kissing our skins, and dreams of a peaceful world 🌞

To curate this journey, I invited someone who truly embodies the Mediterranean spirit: my dear friend and one of Napoli’s brightest gems, @bassolino.sound .

Dario Bassolino (aka Dario Bass) is a producer, pianist, and composer whose work spans collaborations with @nicolaconteofficial , @lndfk , Pink Siifu, Nu Genea, and more. His music carries forward Naples' rich tradition, channeling the energy of artists like Toni Esposito and James Senese, and the cinematic textures of ‘70s and ‘80s poliziotteschi soundtracks.

His debut album (and one of my personal favorite albums of all time) Città Futura, out via @periodicarecords and @jakartarecords , is a tribute to this ever-evolving musical landscape.

Napoli is such a special and important city and I think everyone who's been there gets me. It's not only bursting with life, but also stands as a powerful symbol of cultural resilience and resistance, echoing all the way back to the days of the Roman Empire.

It’s also the closest European city to Tunisia, my motherland. From their symbols (the same red pepper we use to make Harissa is actually their lucky charm) to their lifestyle, everything revolves around hope, nostalgia, and community. There’s a common sense of intense realness that might strike you hard at first, but with time, you’ll understand it’s mostly because we live in a world full of hypocrisy, and we Mediterraneans simply say things as they are.

During my visit and conversations with my brother Massimo De Lena (@nu_genea ), @gigitesta__ , and @davide__damico , I witnessed how Neapolitan artists build their unique sound through research, patience, and reverence for their roots. Maybe that’s just our Mediterranean way : we take our time.

I wrote this on my way back from Tunisia to Paris, Bassolino’s mixtape in my ears, eyes lost in the blue, hoping that soon, we’ll all be by the sea, free, sharing a 🍉 in hand together.

A new month, a new journey! I’m very happy to host my dear friend and excellent producer @rees.mp3 for a special episode of Collective Memory on @radioalhara 🦎

I’ve known Rees for years, ever since my time in Tunisia, where his productions were already reaching me across borders.

Although we've already been connected way before, Life brought us together for the first time in person at @dkmntl in 2022, right on the dancefloor after @hunchmusic and @antalheitlager unforgettable closing set. It was one of those encounters that felt destined: the connection was immediate, sincere, and full of recognition.

Rees is a remarkable artist with a sound that balances weight and subtlety, emotion and drive. His productions and DJ sets invite you into a timeless space, euphoric yet introspective, weaving influences that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant. Beyond the music, his kindness and authenticity shine through, making his sound all the more powerful.

An avid producer, label head, and digger, Rees’ sets move lovingly through his vast collection, flirting with leftfield house, italo, trance, wave, downtempo, and other cosmic obscurities.

His discography follows a similar path, connecting the dots between his diverse influences and leading him to release on the likes of @bordelloaparigi , @permanentvacationrecords , and @palmstrax ’s @cwpt.club .

In 2023, he co-founded @magicritmo , a label dedicated to exploring the weird and the wonderful through lost reissues, boundary-pushing compilations, and future classics.

From the same vision, @eternalsunfestival was born : a festival that hosts highly-eclectic artists and open-minded dancers in an atmosphere of freedom and curiosity.

Collective Memory with Rees (Radio Alhara 25.08.2025)

With over a decade of deep involvement in music and culture, PAURRO has become a cornerstone of Mexico’s electronic landscape and a fearless ambassador on the global stage. She first rose to prominence in 2018 as a booker, programmer, and radio host, a role that opened doors to performances at major festivals like @tropicomx and @bahidora , and leading clubs across South America. 

Her commitment to the community extended through workshops and masterclasses for emerging DJs, while her career took a defining turn in 2021 when she became label manager of @donmatiasaguayo ’s @musica_comeme and released her debut EP Galavision. Since then, with releases on !K7, Nervous, Local Action, and Clasico, she has established herself as a singular producer whose work is celebrated by Resident Advisor, Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Fact. Her sets have brought her to some of the world’s most respected stages, including @dkmntl , @makingtimeisrad , and @primavera_sound , affirming her global presence.

But PAURRO’s impact reaches far beyond the booth. Having faced discrimination and barriers as a woman in Mexico’s scene, she has transformed those experiences into fuel for a broader mission: creating spaces that are inclusive, celebratory, and transformative. Her residency and party series House of Paurro has become a beacon, spotlighting diverse talent from around the world, expanding across the Americas, and earning recognition as one of Mexico City’s most important parties.

Her sound embodies this vision: a fluid and boundary-breaking mix of house, Latin and UK influences, breakbeats, dreamy synths, deep basslines, and freestyle flourishes. It is music that refuses borders and carries a clear message : connection, resistance, and freedom.

Having delved into the lost art of musical storytelling, his sets unfold within specific contexts, seamlessly transitioning between atmospheres to unveil a cosmic and mystical sonic dimension while keeping the dancefloor alive.

Track Advisor's radio shows on Loose.fm and Radio Al Hara offer glimpses into his eclectic selections, featuring guest artists who share their wonders.
