Les Yeux Orange started early 2013, when Noctambulo and Humangigz team up to share their passion and knowledge of music with the world. Long time collectors and DJs, they start off by uploading all sorts of electronic music on their inhexaustible youtube channel and sharing podcasts of international DJs. In 2014, they begin to throw some of the best intimate parties of Paris in La Rotonde, inviting international guests and slowly but surely giving the club the reputation of an inavoidable pillar of the local scene.

In 2015, they launch their premiere series, hosting exclusive unreleased tracks from upcoming releases on a daily basis and becoming to be known as one of the best curated soundcloud platforms. Going viral, Les Yeux Orange launch their own label and are invited to play all over Europe.

Since the 90s, the characteristic 303 acid sound is one of the main elements in most electronic DJ sets. We dedicate a series of online mixes from talented artists, which will contain those smiley-facing sounds. Electro, techno, rave, breakbeats, house, acid acid acid!
Every first week of each month, a 1-hour acid mix will be uploaded on our Soundcloud!

First to take off the "On Acid" series is @conductdisorder. A new kid on the block from Rotterdam, and yeah, truly an acid kid. With his own shows at Operator Radio, he is going wild in digging the true thriving Electro and massive Breakbeat tunes. 2019 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the public as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the course of the year. With a newfound buzz surrounding my beloved genre, I'm hardly keeping up! Mix #061 comes from the boss of one of the most influential and important electro labels in recent years, Bass Agenda head-honcho, Andy Barton.


Andy created Bass Agenda as a podcast series on Soundcloud in early 2012. Over the years the show has been hosted by various radio stations before reaching its home on Juan Atkins’ DeepSpaceRadio.com in Detroit. The show has evolved into a magazine style format – with features, interviews, mixes, and live sets from a broad range of Electro and Techno artists and DJs including Dave Clarke, Anthony Rother, AUX88, The Egyptian Lover, Helena Hauff, Dez Williams, David Meiser, ADULT, Plant 43, and many more. The shows and musical impact of people like Dave Clarke, John Peel, and Gilles Peterson inspired Andy to make the show what it has become. The show reaches its 200th episode in the next couple of months.

Bass Agenda Recordings began in 2013, with its debut ‘The Fight Against the Mundane’ featuring many of the guests that had appeared on the show in its first year. The label is due to take break for 6 to 12 months after over 100 releases on digital, vinyl, CD, and USB formats. Before then there are three releases to come on vinyl from the Dutch Transhumanism collective (w1b0, RXmode, TFHats, and Slaves of Sinus), an EP from Detroit’s Filthiest, and album from Bass Junkie. Tracks from all three of these are featured in Andy’s mix. In 2020 Andy curated CAREBOT, a massive 100+ tracks compilation raising money for NHS Charities Together and Médecins Sans Frontières Covid-19 initiatives. So far, the CAREBOT$ has raised over £8,000.

2020 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the public as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the course of the year. With a newfound buzz surrounding my beloved genre, I'm hardly keeping up! I feel like It was a busy year both production-wise and promotion-wise for @DVSNME and @DarkScienceElectro respectively, however, I found some time to put together a mix of my favorite 32 tracks from 2020. Dark Science Electro presents: Best Of 2020

Ralph Lawson

Ralph Lawson is best known for the highly acclaimed 20/20 Vision and his residency at the legendary back to basics club in Leeds, where he started in November 1991 and assisting on musical direction bringing important electronic music artists in the world including; Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Francois Kervorkian, Derrick Carter, DJ Harvey, Chez Damier and so many others...

Touring across the world followed with shows at; Space / DC10 / Amnesia / The Underground in Ibiza, Red Dog & Smart Bar in Chicago, The Sound Factory / Tunnel / Limelight / Cielo and Studio B in New York, Ostgut, Panorama Bar and Watergate in Berlin among many others including supporting Carl Cox at his legendary Millennium New Year’s Eve show on Bondi Beach, Sydney. Lawson also played at the legendary Hacienda in Manchester, Sub Club in Glasgow and Fabric in London. 

Lawson founded 20/20 Vision in 1994 and the roster grew to include a wealth of international artists including; Stacey Pullen, Crazy P, Maya Jane Coles, Motor City Drum Ensemble alongside local Leeds based artists that went on to worldwide recognition including; Paul Woolford, Audiojack, PBR Streetgang and Carl Finlow. 

Alongside Carl Finlow he produced a series of classic releases including ‘Raptures of The Deep’ and a series of remixes for celebrated artists including; Blaze - ‘Lovelee Dae’, ‘Funky People’ and ‘Wishing You Were Here’. Lawson also forged a relationship with Detroit’s Chez Damier under the ‘Chuggles’ name on Prescription Underground.

Next came the live electronic music experience known as - 2020Soundsystem. After releasing the albums ‘No Order’, ’Falling’ and ‘Live at Sonar’, the collective became a festival favourite around the world with appearances at Sonar, Glastonbury, Exit, Lovebox, The Garden Festival, Creamfields and many more.

Lawson finally left his long running residency at back to basics after 28 years leaving a farewell compilation behind called ‘back to basics rare classics’ featuring a selection of rare tracks from the club and artwork from Jamie Reid, the graphic artist who defined the punk era with his album covers for the Sex Pistols.

In 2018 he co-founded inner city electronic continuing his work as a musical director and curator. The festival has been greeted with universal acclaim and hosted artists including; Floating Points, Octave One, KiNK, Helena Hauff, Dopplereffekt, DJ Stingray and Andrew Weatherall, while also creating a conference programme focusing on artist development, masterclass and technology.

2020 was far from the year it should have been for 20/20 Vision but it still produced another new project - Exit Planet Earth, as a series of vinyl various artist compilations and also weekly show on OpenLab Radio, Ibiza. EPE marks a musical departure for Lawson as he leaves the planet behind imagining worlds playing intergalactic space funk and electro. 

The future may be uncertain but one thing is for sure and that is this man will always be there behind the decks.
