Side B blasts off with the early Chicago house inspired track "Passion" by prolific Dresden producer SNEAKER [Uncanny Valley/Rat Life/Frigio]. Working as a visual artist and writer, Puck Schot once felt the need to express a more masculine voice within her poetry. Curious towards electronic music, she started making experiments around 2019 with the Korg MS-20, poetry on violence and distorted drum samples as Acidic Male. In that same year she started collaborating with RJM Vanderheyden as 'Vot'ress' as well, combining harsh noise with nature sounds and Shakespearean texts. Since then, she has a high interest in industrial sounds, hypnotic drum patterns and experimental vocals. Having her performer name as a revenge title, she searches to “other” herself into the position of a manipulator, perpetrating the listener through the duality of softness and harshness within violent sounds and poetry. Yet, typically what is left is merely a penetration of herself as the subject, exposing her confessions, memories and hauntologies. She is simply ripping in two, in front of an audience.

about the release
Titled after her place of birth, Deceased in Rotterdam provides autobiographical catharsis and grievance towards Acidic Male's past selves. Including extracted sounds from early childhood VHS home-tapes, field recordings and pubescent yells of rage, the viewer is left with sounds depicting the artist’s remains of physicality. The songs are written in a state of isolated self-reflection and through mourning over the past of her growing female body, seeking calmness in ageing yet fearing her own decomposition.

This is Acidic Male's debut EP.

Couronne de Merde a l’habitude de libérer ses frustrations et ses sentiments d’injustice par la création. Son style est un mélange compulsif entre une jeunesse ancrée dans la musique classique, une adolescence emo en quête d’exutoire musical et les cordes sensibles de ses synthétiseurs.

Cette faille temporelle se reflète notamment sur son nouvel album “Policy of Trust”, constitué de morceaux composés au fil des années. Les influences de Depeche Mode ou Christoph de Babalon s’y font sentir, propulsées dans un univers techno aux fréquences saturées.

La recherche de transcendance à travers des atmosphères sonores cinématographiques embarque l’auditeur dans un train de nuit métallique où les paysages s’entrechoquent, entre espoir planant et violence déchirante.

Couronne de Merde has an habit of releasing his frustrations and feelings of injustice through creation. His style is a compulsive mix between a youth anchored in classical music, an emo adolescence in search of a musical outlet and the sensitive strings of his synthesizers.

This temporal rift is notably reflected on his new album "Policy of Trust", made of tracks composed over the years. The influences of Depeche Mode or Christoph de Babalon can be felt, propelled in a techno universe with saturated frequencies.

The search for transcendence through cinematographic sound atmospheres takes the listener on a metallic night train where landscapes collide, between soaring hope and heartbreaking violence.

About the album:
This is a soundtrack to imaginary nightime streetscapes in a world that resembles our own.
Crumbling asphalt slick with oil and grease reflects the woozy glow of late night bodegas in acrid pink, yellow and green.
Drakkar Noir is a feceless figure who inhabits this world, an alias shamelessly lifted from a sleazy and long out-of-fashion scent, a brand name derived from a mashup of mythical pretensions and hollow advertising jargon. Part Human and part digital fiction, Drakkar Noir is, like the city itself, a shapeshifter who feeds and is fed by the collective dreams and nightmares floating above the buildings and into smoke-filled skies.

Uplifting dub-infused club music from Utrecht, where https://soundcloud.com/lunaludmila has been carving out her own electronic micro cosmos over the last two decades. The Dutch dj and producer returns to SoHaSo with the beautiful Hoisin EP, which represents her bright look on how dance floors should move. 

While working on her upcoming live set, this creative process led to a lot of new music, as the four tracks on this EP illustrate. Take for instance title track Hoisin Dreams, which combines sultry strings with breakbeat-infused rhythms and pulsating baselines. Change of Scenery is equally challenging and bright. With its stomping kickdrums it even gives a slight nod to Underworld. On the club friendly Thalia, tribal rhythms take the front stage while closing track Waterkant is clearly a more dreamlike affair, with its dub heavy basslines.
