For this 100th Premiere of 2021, we have a track by French Electro Producer "Franck Kartell" titled ‘Victoria’ from his forthcoming EP "Electric Sheep" [LDI002] on the Dutch newcomer label : LDI Records.

‘Victoria’ which is an ode to the electronic musician Victoria Lukas who passed away in 2020 is a beautifully poised and contemplative track steeped in synths.

LDI Records is a Dutch record label specialized in moody, dark and atmospheric electro. The name comes from the abbreviation of Lloyd’s Dark Imperium.
The label was created in 2021 by Erik Griffioen aka Lloyd Stellar with a focus on vinyl (Clone Distribution), but LDI will also be represented in the digital world.

Newly launched Dutch electro label LDI Records follows up their first release from T/Error with
a deep and dark four track EP by French producer Franck Kartell.

In a homage to masterful science fiction writer Philip K Dick - Side A of Electric Sheep EP
evokes scenes from future mechanised worlds. Electric Sheep kicks the 12” off with a
melancholic and contemplative moment followed by a steel cold and brooding venture in
Voigt-Kampff.

On the B side of this release, there is a live mix of Kartell's track Electro Music, a futuristic
electro work out with kicks for the dancefloor. The EP completes with Victoria - an ode to the
electronic musician Victoria Lukas who passed away in 2020 - with a beautifully poised and
contemplative track steeped in synths.

Franck Kartell is a French producer who has releases on Between Places, Transient Force,
Ukonx Recordings, New Flesh, Bass Agenda and others. Since 2005 he has been producing
well thought-out Electro music filled with dark atmospheres and driving rhythms.

Specialising in moody, atmospheric electro, LDI Records (Lloyd’s Dark Imperium) are an
essential label to watch. Distributed worldwide by Clone Distribution, while the Dutch label’s
main focus is on vinyl releases, available in selected record shops across the globe, releases
will also be available digitally.

Dark hits and hooks, rolling dub breaks, and a wide cushion of flowing sub are constant through this pointed collaboration by Niko & Jonah K. From the spacious introductory beats of Antares, through its ensuing moody swagger and into a circular percussive spiral stirring up in Arcturus, an enticing vibe and bounce is established instantly and fully maintained. The two tracks seamlessly intersect, complimenting perfectly when mixed.

For reinforcement, Tamarak is brought on, packing a blinding remix of Antares. Vastness and suffocating intensity mark this one for extreme heat, true to form from this monster west coast producer.

Closing out, Pablo Splice revises Arcturus with a characteristic spin, suiting up the original parts as a frantic torrent of electro in a slow steady roller that swells to an extended beats break.

Not many positives have come from COVID-19 but Lauren finally taking the plunge into mixing has been a definite plus for everyone, whether you know it yet or not.

Now Glasgow-based but originally from Dundee, we have partied with her long before Hilltown Disco days.  From Thursday-Sunday sessions at our beloved home of the Reading Rooms, to infamous Commercial Street parties, Hazra has always had the ear for killer tunes and has really just always got it - which can be felt in this mix.

The set was recorded mid-isolation when she had COVID which makes the result even more impressive.  A mix for the dancers and for the nights of the future.
