On Friday February 7 2014 as Dj Premier was in Detroit performing at Dilla Day, I was filling in for Premier on his Sirius/Xm radio show "Live From Headqcourterz". Being that it was what would have been J-Dilla's 40th birthday I did an all Dilla set in my second hour honoring the late great Producer/MC/DJ. 
James "Jay-Dee", "J-Dilla" Yancey died in 2006 at the young age of 32 from cardiac arrest after a long battle with a rare blood disease.... 

He was one of the music industry's most influential and respected hip-hop artists.

The “Searchin” mix is a near hour long playlist of original songs sampled in rap classics and currents favorites. Frank The Butcher & DJ7L dug in the crates to unearth compositions that could be found in songs by The Throne, ASAP Rocky, G.O.O.D. Music, Nas, Schoolboy Q, Ghostface, Mobb Deep, Rick Ross, Wu Tang, J Dilla and more.
