This year marks 3 years of Needs.

Since humble beginnings in 2017, the label has gone on to release tracks from some of our favourite artists in the scene, as well curating events with essential charities and initiatives such as UN Women's HeForShe campaign, and also Earth Day.

To mark this special occasion we’re back where it all started, raising money and awareness for mental health. October 10th marks World Mental Health Day and this year's theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is suicide prevention. To recognise and promote this occasion we’ve brought along another all-star cast to help us spread the message far and wide.

Needs 008 is a double vinyl compilation which features the talents of ​Shanti Celeste​, ​OCB​, ​Michelle​, ​Bobby.​, Peder Mannerfelt​, ​Yu Su​, ​Adam Pits​ and ​DJ Sports​.

Stay tuned to the Needs channels during our birthday month for regular updates, plus panels and artist features.

This International Tribe mix is coming from Ireland-based Woozy Soundsystem who is EMA & Sputnik One, exemplars of the dub-heavy strains of modern soundsystem culture.

First a party series, the crew now set their sights on capturing the zeitgeist with their debut release ‘Woozy001’.

Eluize returns to Craigie Knowes to release her second album in the form of the beautifully eclectic 8-track 'Gone' LP. Experimental sounds feature alongside club-ready Techno and Electro - moving effortlessly and coherently across genre and influence. 'Gone' captures the full-spectrum of Eluize's mastery of songwriting, composition & production in all of its shimmering intricacy. Her take on synthesis, drum programming, mixing and original vocals/lyrics take you by the hand and lead you into a rich garden of colour and sound. The 12" version is accompanied by an A5 insert with a message from the artist and information on how to get your hands the HQ digital files, including the final 2 tracks that complete the album.

PREMIERE: Eluize - Stutters [CKNOWLP2]

He awoke disorientated, his vision blurred in the early morning light. His face had been stuck to the lino floor in the kitchen, seems he hadn't made it up the stairs to bed then. The stench of cigarette smoke clung to the air and the fumes of undisclosed alcohol spillages travelled up his nostrils. Everybody had already made their escape before morning (and the inevitable regret) had begun to creep in, and as usual he'd been left to pick up the pieces.

Last month we shared the news of Brighton-based party starters Accidental Meetings taking their first steps into the label world, enlisting the help of friends and family with close ties to the party to contribute tracks to their mammoth compilation. After lockdown left the crew with no events in sight, they made a pledge to pull together the 21-track offering which journeys through the electronic sounds that will be at the core of the label in the future. From dancehall and electro to UK techno and breaks, the release features cuts from the likes of Chungo, Charles Green, Alexis, Caldera, ZaaZaa, Kincaid and DJ Tess, which we premiered last month.

PREMIERE: 96 Back - Punch Drunk Esc [Accidental Meetings]

10 unread messages, 15 missed calls and counting; the alerts flashed up on her screen one after another. She flipped the phone over — out of sight, out of mind. She knew what would greet her if she responded, and she wasn't ready to confront it yet. For now, she preferred to retreat into an imagined world and ignore everything else around her. The real world could wait. 

Dublin's First Second charge into 2021 with the release of Housebreaker, the highly anticipated return of WRY MYRRH member and DDR resident ELLLL, which gets a sparse, slomo twist from Can You Feel The Sun co-founder Parris. The record follows her Febreeze EP last year and, again, showcases her knack for intricate sound design and production chops. While the title track brings dystopian breaks and feverish tension, the Atlantis Dub amps up the atmosphere and temp, delivering an experimental twist on D'n'B.
