About a month ago I bought myself a new mixer. This upload is just to show off what the new mixing console (Soundcraft Ghost) does to a track that's being run through it with a bit added tweaking on the EQ.

Tech Talk notes:

+ The track was sent out to the mixer using one stereo- and one mono bus.
+ Applied EQ on all three channels on the Ghost console, and downmixed them back to Logic. (Mono bus channel used to rebalance the super wide stereo image back to a less insane stereo field).
+ Applied a gentle limiter and rendered the file.

          Liquid Abyss 
            Liquid Abyss is two things. One: It is the best drum and bass artist you’ve never heard of. Two: It is the dark place of fascination into which you will descend upon immersion in this artist’s music. Moody, brooding but also infused with cosmic energy. Ambience meets charged bass meets percussion rhythms meets atmosphere meets the listener in an all-out electronica bash!
 
                  Dream Journey 
            Music, says Liquid Abyss, is “a journey into a dream state of mind-bending soundwaves that consumes your soul and succumbs to its cosmic energy force.” How accurate! Liquid Abyss’ music is so finely crafted that the listener is abducted into what can only be described as another universe, a different dimension of existence, where space expands outward from a centerpoint, creating the illusion (and metaphysical truth) that you are part of everything and that everything is part of you. Liquid Abyss’ self-described “trance/dark ambient/drum-and-bass/experimental/progressive space music” is truly a wonder to behold and will fill all who hear with awe.
 
                  Minimalism 
            There are those who would probably equate minimalism with boredom, but that would be foolish. Every heard a single man with a lonely guitar play some of the best music you’ve ever heard? It isn’t always how much you use but how you use it. And sometimes a Spartan approach is exactly how one conjures the thickest, most compelling atmosphere. “The minimalist style honed through painting moods, from dreamy textured grooves to the muted power shouts” – that’s how Liquid Abyss describes its musical philosophy and that’s how you will describe their music when you hear it. And you must hear it.
 
                  Simplicity, Complexity
           Liquid Abyss on creating electronic music: “What inspires me the most about electronic music is that you can create it in a single program nowadays and thrown in what you like and it comes out a masterpiece!” The simplicity is in the streamlined, one-program approach. The complexity comes with what Liquid Abyss does with its musical resources. Don’t doubt for one second that a Liquid Abyss song is a masterpiece. Masterpieces one and all, because Liquid Abyss carries the feeling in the soul and knows how to translate it to music.
 
                     Bending
            To listen to a track by Liquid Abyss is to feel the space-time continuum bend, twist, expand around you. It is to feel the same thing happen to your mind inside your head. Don’t believe me? If you’re brave enough, check out the tunes next chance you get. Just be prepared to change your whole musical perspective. For good. Some bands set the bar and by so doing, redefine the standards of their genres, and sometimes music as a whole. Get ready for a new definition. Liquid Abyss is here. 
 
                     Universe 
            The universe is a big place and if other life forms are found, there’s no doubt that Liquid Abyss would conquer them easily with its musical mastery. For now, this planet is enough. 


trance[]control, formally based on the two cousins Alexander Carlborg and Andreas Wennersköld. The project started early 1997 and within a few years trance[]control became one of the most downloaded bands on the internet.

2012 marks a new beginning. A brand new studio has been setup as Alex decided to swing into action and give the project a second run.
