Fascinat per la relació entre el so i la resta del mòn, en Pau va començar el seu camí en l’experimentació sonora i la composició aproximadament des dels 17 anys. Començant així, amb creacions purament electròniques a través d’instruments com grooveboxes, sintetitzadors, pedals d’efectes, sistema modular, i un llarg etc. Des de fa uns quants anys però, la ressonància entre l'orgànic i l'electrònic és un dels principals punts focals, fet que l’ha portat a voler treballar i recercar amb aquests 2 factors de forma molt present. A travès de la interacció amb la natura, l'escolta profunda, amb artefactes com instruments musicals, altres músics, amb la resposta sonora de diversos espais, l’expressió corporal i la simbiosi entre lo digital i l'analógic, així com diferents disciplines artístiques en general.

Transcendent records is proud to present a new immersive cinematic techno release by a French producer who goes under the name of Ersatz Olfolks. Some might already know him from previous releases on Singular Records and Cheap. For a producer with only two records behind him we think he already has a bright voice within the overcrowded musical techno landscape. Heliopolis is the city of the sun and was the theological centre of the greatest sun temple of pharaonic times. The sunrays bring brightness but we also find ourselves in the darkest ominous shades of an eclipse. We were instantly captivated by his contra dictionary sound that is filled with subtle harmonic distortions and sophisticated melodic and evolving modular patterns. Heliopolis EP is a careful selection of works recorded during live sessions. This is our definition of techno!

It might be called Transcendent but we're down to earth. We're aiming to release music that goes cross genre and has a certain level of sophistication and consistency. No ambitions. Techno or electro it’s all machine music made by humans. We don’t believe there is a soul inside a synthesizer or drummachine, it’s voltages and components or 0’s or 1’s. If you deliver the soul, the machines will follow.
