This year's been a busy one for Swiss house and techno producer and selector Deetron. 

The pinnacle may have been his 'Fabric 76' mix, weaving between tracks from Marcel Dettmann, Caribou and Seven Davis Jr, and he's been on a prolific remix run, doing his thing on tracks by Roots Panorama and in-demand house duo Gorgon City.

Part of our newly conscripted roster, Weska has been shaping his thick, punchy, highly polished sound from way up in Toronto, as resident at the sound Mind crews parties, he has formulated a particularly sharp ended production style that runs deep through these hypnotic tracks. We drafted in a very specific remixer for this EP, Joran Van Pol has created some of the most stripped down and stark slabs of dance of music this last year on labels like Minus and Rejected, and here he has moulded the title track into a slow motion, low slung masterpiece.

Music Is The Answer Mix

Techno two-piece Slam (Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle) bring the new double vinyl album Machine Cut Noise to the forefront next month Stuart and Orde's day-to-day proceedings consist of maximum time spent on the road, in airports and hotels; which also forms the creative hub for their music-making. It's this transitory state that largely dominates the vibe on Machine Cut Noise.

With each of the album's eleven tracks handed its own unique energy, this concept is probably depicted most prevalently in "Psalm". There is a deep emotional core found within this programmed 7.5-minute piece. It conjures a direction that 'has been paved by the machines which surround us'. A technophile's voyage into the unknown we strongly recommend getting on board with.

Machine Cut Noise comes out on 28th October on Slam's own Soma Records.

Spartaque - Who You Are

Under his SCB moniker, Scuba released 'Caibu', a twelve track LP of cerebral techno, darkened disco and broken beats on Hotflush in April 2018. It's an album that draws strength from introspection, merging subdued hypnotism, syncopated basslines and visceral ambience to find its centre. The first in a series of remixes to emerge of tracks from the album will be two contrasting interpretations of 'Extinct' by ANNA and Ireen Amnes, due out on the 29th of June.

Skream steps up to deliver the latest release on Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave imprint with a thunderous ballad titled 'Poison', which comes complete with a massive techno bomb remix by the label founder himself. 

The pairing has yielded a peak-time anthem and Fitzpatrick expressed how the project came to life was almost like fate: "Sometimes, some things are just meant to be. Ideas occur, actions happen, and everything falls into place. What started out as a creative itch very quickly escalated into something really exciting, so there were obviously special forces at work that day!"

'Poison' is set for release July 13.

Release Info: 
Swiss label Dilek drops a new EP from Argentinian duo Biotech Patagonia also including a remix by UNER who is an artist who has featured on labels ranging from Bedrock and Diynamic to Sol Selectas.

Biotech Patagonia have a melodic style and a unique take on electronic music that when DJ’ing, also incorporates live vocals expertly sung by Violeta Reynal who makes up one half of the boyfriend and girlfriend duo. Constantino Vela is the other half and it’s his DJ skills which prove the backing track for the vocals.

In the studio Violeta Reynal is also a skilled pianist who brings charismatic melody to their music, whilst Constantino Vela builds the bulk of the track using analogue drum machines and synthesisers.

Creative equals, the members of Biotech Patagonia have complimenting skills, and this is the duo's debut release of original material.

For his remix, UNER has teamed up with his girlfriend Viviana Toscanini who is a South American native with musical roots that run deep in her family tree, and she has released on labels such as CibiCaldi Records. UNER to fans of the melodic genre needs little introduction, as he regularly DJ’s all over the globe, and has releases on many of the world’s best known labels.

The original mix of “Natura” opens the EP with a slow building structure full of analogue warmth. Its stripped back sound with synth parts washed in delay gives the track a cosmic feel perfect for the dance floor.

For the second track UNER and Viviana Toscanini remix “Natura” and start by adding an exquisite piano that’s brings a poignant mood to the original's stellar design. Beautiful and ambient but without forgetting about the dance floor, this intricate rework is simply stunning.

Third is “Shadows” which appropriately titled, had a dark and brooding undertone with glistening synths that skim across its surface, but it’s the introverted vocal which really adds the personality to this haunting cut.

“Genesis” is fourth on the release and with pulsating bass tones the track brings focus to the lead vocal, which compliments the mood of the dramatic melody synths. Highly conceptual and a full embodiment of the term epic, this mammoth track is a real attention grabber.

Finishing things is “Whispers” which is an intricate call and response between the bass and melody. Minimal in many senses, but still falling under the header of melodic techno, this track could for many be one of the highlights on the EP.

Carl Cox is one of the people who regularly supports his tracks and adding Intec to an already impressive back catalogue of labels, this three track EP showcases Andres Campo at his very best.

The last of three tracks on this EP is the understated “Glaciar” which builds steadily towards a twisted crescendo of sinister FX and growls, before its explosive percussion kicks back in. Keeping you on the edge of your seat, its ominous atmosphere is beyond intense.

New release by the Argentinian band 'Los Coming Soon' creators of a fresh and modern sound thanks to the excellent work of their producer Eric Broucek (LCD Soundsystem, DFA). All their compositions show an interesting blend between the Indie and the dance floor, strongly influenced by the House but with an organic and energetic feel, 'Fernet Tastes Good' is the best proof of it. 

Stereo Productions has decided to recover this piece through two excellent remixes, one by the label honchos Chus & Ceballos which has their unmistakable trademark, Vibrant groove, strong percussions, and techno mood. The second version signed by Gonçalo turns to more hypnotic and evocative lands, a oneiric journey to the listeners.

The relentless MOTHER RECORDINGS keep up a high quality rate of release diet yet again with another bit of dance floor dynamite. We say hello and warmly embrace young gun RUBEN MANDOLINI with his debut EP „Dark Side“. With releases on NicFanciulliś Saved or Josh Butlerś Origins Rcrds we are more than happy to welcome such a talented and humble person to our MOTHER family.

Opener „Dark Side“ has perfectly swung drums bringing a New York feel, with razor sharp hi hats and big warm kicks powering it along. Ducking and diving as it goes, the dynamism will sweep up the floor and then busy vocals and taught synth twangs help ramp things up.

The brilliant „Take It Back“ on the flip is another vocal house banger, with lots of filters bringing the tensions, sweeping synths rising you up and heavy drums keeping things rooted to the groove.

These are two more hugely effective cuts as ever from MOTHER.

Tim Engelhardt & Constantijn Lange - Synced

The first on the forthcoming two-tracker from Animal Trainer, ‘Rebirth’ encompasses the feeling of anticipation and optimism. Funk and disco inspired beats and synth lines offer an irresistible hook to the track. Space-like sounds and gentle but swirling melodies build throughout with signature Frankfurt-style techno bleats peppering the track. With each minute that passes, the elements come together to work in harmony, bringing us closer to a new beginning; a ‘Rebirth’.

In a continuation on the journey that Animal Trainer have laid out in this EP, second track ‘Awakening’ projects a celestial feel. Following on from a previous sense of anticipation, we now feel we have landed in the presence of a new and higher power with ‘Awakening’. A steady pulsing beat forms the undercurrent

for this transmission. Overlaid with electrical tweets and gentle acid-esque melodies, the track delves deep with snare rhythms pinpointing clear tribal influences. A subtle-yet powerful drop welcomes the listener into the thick of this track; they’re awakened in the cosmos with Animal Trainer at the helm.

Rebirth

Animal Trainer - Rebirth

Joining the WCF imprint with his 'Distorted Time EP', the Manchester based Transcode brings his driving sound to Egg LDN's in-house label to showcase his versatile approach to production.

With the vinyl press being released at the beginning of November, followed by the digital version, which includes the bonus track 'Backlash', due out on 14th December, the EP includes two remixes by the club's close friends Secret Cinema and OC & Verde.

'Timewarp' opens up the release, immediately setting a tripped out tone with its distorted vocals and a slightly menacing melody, which bubbles under the surface throughout the track.

'Rotation' is a slightly darker and dubber production complemented by crisp hi-hats and well-rounded drums. It is a perfect intro to building up an extended set.

Secret Cinema leaves his stamp on 'Timewarp' with an ominous Remix of Transcode's Original. Again, it fits into the shady feel of the EP but the Dutch producer brings an enchanting feel to the track, with a twinkling melody laced throughout.

Manchester based OC & Verde bring their stamp to the release with their remix of 'Rotation'. Using a blend of drawn-out synths to build up a powerful lead, packed with raw percussions, it certainly shows the sonic direction the duo has been working on over the last year.

Completing the digital edition with a bonus track, Transcode rounds off the EP with 'Backlash'. A punchy and unrelenting track, it's a peak time tune which is one of those tracks for a heaving dance floor to relish in what the Mancunian producer is all about.
