Canary Islands' Alex Medina heads up Mumbai Records, and his work goes from deep house to deep techno via well-crafted electronica. He always looks outside the usual rules with his music and has also released on the likes of Innervisions, Diynamic and Laurent Garnier's CODE3 QR label. 

Opener 'Trio Infernale' kicks off the EP, with a slinky bassline and shuffling groove led by a freaky lead synth sound over heavy and dubby low ends. Add the trippy vocal loops, and you have a track to build incredible momentum in any set. 

Up next is 'Un Memento', a writhing, fizzing fusion of synthetic lines, skewed synths and gurgling bass that fires your synapses and makes for an energising experience as the drums roll on. It's texturally rich and perfect for intense dance floor experiences. 

First to remix is Redshape, a legendary mask wearer from Germany with a lo-fi and dusty take on deeply atmospheric techno on labels like Delsin and Running Back. His superb version slows things down, strips them back to the wobbly acid bass and allows the minimal drums to roll into an unknown future full of subtle tension that keeps you locked. 

The revered Hungarian party starters and label heads Secret Factory then add their remix. It's a brighter, loose cut with hopeful melodies and reflective cosmic chords, adding an uplifting style to the original. The ‘Trio Infernale’ EP is another brilliantly left-of-centre release of rich club sounds from Secret Fusion.

Initially materialising as a fully fledged happening, The Last Trip is ultimately available in tangible sonic form, as a mini-compilation of party-friendly styles under the Techno umbrella rolled into 12 exclusive tracks.

Classically trained instrumentalist and Cocoon alum Malandra Jr. kicks off proceedings on a dynamic note with a pair of blissed-out tracks featuring blossoming synths, supple drums and whirring glitches. Citizen Kain follows suit with two energy-loaded numbers, the more dreamy and spaced out 'Crush', followed by the vocal-heavy 'Balance'. Next up is German producer Heerhorst who takes a turn for deep and pensive melodies with 'Centaurus', while 'Hydra' stands out with powerful synths and a rattling beat. Bold, intense synths are also at the core of Transcodes 'String Theory' and 'Molecular Cloud', with the former offering a massive breakdown fit for peak time, and the latter a more resolute atmosphere overall. In the releases final quarter, we find Olivier Giacomotto with two tribal-tinged constructions, the slow burner 'Moonshine', and its more unhinged counterpart, 'Bonobo'. Made in Paris rounds off the Trip with a couple of stirring slices brimful of radiating synths and spacious breakdowns.

All in all, a steady trickle of dancefloor-primed pieces setting off sparks of all the different types of energy needed to sustain a coalescent set.

Fairmonts Brothers Keeper EP (BEDDIGI123) was a beacon of creative originality and his eagerly awaited follow-up Scropulus EP unveils another immaculate 3-track electronic collection. The blossoming relationship between Bedrock and Jake Fairley aka Fairmont, the Toronto-based electronic music producer, live performer and DJ, whose inimitable grasp of contrast, dynamic and groove marks him out as a true originator, is exciting in the extreme.

Frozen In Glass immediately bends the ear with its hypnotising looped hooks and intriguing vocal snippets, as it travels away on a steadily pulsating groove dynamic, atmospheric electronic mastery at its finest, with hints of psychedelia to top thing off.
