Foutoir Moderne #81 | Neowise

The Berlin/Dresden-based label Made of Concrete has been, since its foundation in 2015, a platform for records shaped by the aesthetic of Techno, House, Ambient, and Experimental music. For the forthcoming release of the German imprint, family member Alek S delivers “Nightdrive”, a well-crafted EP featuring three top-notch originals and one interesting “repaint” version shaped with love and creativity by Alex Bau.

Based in Cottbus, Germany, Alek S has been fighting the good fight since 1998. An avid record collector, his endeavours as a producer nobly started to accomplish a dream: Having his music released on vinyl. He promptly succeeded due to the high quality of the first demos he ever sent.

Premiered here, the title track carries Alek S’ usual style, a dub-infused slice of catchy, scintillating Techno. The bouncing bassline and the emotive pad layer trigger that unique sensation of dancing to “Nightdrive” with the eyes closed but the heart open to the peaceful-yet-euphoric atmosphere it yields. 

For the trippy Dub Techno lovers out there, the release is definitely a must-have!

PREMIERE226 // Alek S - Nightdrive

Comienza una nueva temporada, y el sello @hxagrmrecords vuelve con fuerza, y esta vez lanzando el release del productor serbio Goran Alavuk (Alavux), que regresa después de su aparición en su anterior VVAA “Transmute v.01” [HXAGRM004], donde incluye cuatro cortes de techno EBM pirotécnico y duro, junto a un remix del productor berlinés Serge Geyzel.

Harlequin es el track que tenemos el placer de presentar y es el que abre fuego con pausas de alta velocidad y una pátina industrial aderezada con una dulce distorsión.

Al final, el resultado de esta vuelta de Alavux es toda una oda romántica al eclecticismo, que se sostiene en un terreno ambiguo en ocasiones entre múltiples géneros, pero es ahí donde este singular productor consigue su objetivo final: sonar nuevo sin serlo, sonar antiguo sin parecerlo, alternando cada género con maestría y salir del laberinto sabiendo que, tanto si ha sido hacia delante o hacia atrás, el viaje ha merecido la pena.

The first High Tempo podcast is presented by co-founder: @zwei12. A Berlin based dj, producer and event organizer. He has been playing in Berlin clubs and festivals for more than 10 years, is part of the live act @Hypergeist and actively supporting the scene by organising events as the co-founder of SOUNDS Garten.  

As a dj he enjoys playing cross genre and is not afraid to abandon  4 X 4 patterns completely. Some of his favourite artists are: Noisia, Drexciya, False Persona, Bangkok Impact and Datawave.
