Artist Bio

Jennifer B & the Groove are a 4-piece, high-energy Austin band who play a wide variety of music, including Blues, Roots-Rock and Americana music. With a fresh unique approach to some great classic covers, the band also incorporates new, original music written by Jennifer, featuring her powerful, soulful, gut-wrenching voice and heart tugging lyrics. 

The band released a 5-song EP ‘Downtown’ in November 2018 of original Americana music that features some of Austin’s talented musicians such as Jackie Venson, Chris Maresh, Nick Boettcher, Adrian Meyers, and Patrick Lyons. The band is currently working on a full album of more of Jennifer’s Original songs with a tentative date of completion set for September 2019. Jennifer B & the Groove also have a tribute band, honoring the Great Janis Joplin. They have received great revues and requests for shows all over the united states. The 4 Track Series explores the music and sound of various artists using a  1/4" reel-to-reel tape machine as the interface. In each session the artist records a song and we discover the story behind the music and performer.

I am a Drummer/Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist/Producer. I've played in various types of bands over the years, Rock, Folk, Irish, Reggae, Jazz, Funk, Country, and Avant Garde. I'm best known for playing drums through multiple re-incarnations of Shiva's Headband, the eclectic, legendary psychedelic era band from Austin. One of my songs appears on "In the Primo of Life", and I co-wrote "Roots Rock Station" with Spencer Perskin, which first appeared on "Remember The Armadillo" and was re-released on "The Temple of Rock N Roll". I also co-produced the CD, "So You Don't Go Barefoot", by Sue Perskin of Shiva's. This cloud focuses on my songwriting. Credit is given to any and all musicians involved. Otherwise everything you hear I've done myself.

Producing music for large corporations and TV-Radio commercials has been a fun creative and learning experience.
