It's been a while since I've put anything out publicly so thought I'd start with this. 

'Whispers' started as a hardware jam a few years ago with my close friend @garrettloria and then I developed it into a full track later on. I wanted to keep the sort of rawness that comes with jamming on hardware, while still keeping the mix as full and lush as possible. Also, it's a free download!

Smokin' Sessions are extremely excited to announce the new single titled 'Movere' from one of the label's most celebrated artists that goes by the name of Synkro.

The release is taken from the long-awaited compilation release 'The Session' Vol.2.
The follow-up compilation from the 10-year celebration back in 2017 continues along with the same energy that Smokin' Sessions are so well known for, offering floaty and uplifting productions with detailed beat work, along with that all-important heavy serving of lower frequencies. 
We hear some absolute classics from names such as Djrum, Geode, Versa & Rowl, Escapism Refuge, Occult, Mercy, and some newcomers to the label in the form of Marenn Sukie & Synpal.
There are 5 exclusive, unreleased tracks in total. 2 stunners from Synkro, 1 from Biome, and another 2 from Synpal.

'Movere' is an absolute Synkro maser piece from start to finish. Its energy feels industrial and gritty, yet there is an air or free-flowing fluidity that shines a light on to the recording. The beats are crisp and precise as you'd expect from a Synkro record and percussion is masterfully arranged. A weighty record that stands out as a quality piece of music from Mr. Mcbride. 

Having released with Exit Records, Brownswood, On The Edge, Deep Heads, Styrax, Auxiliary & Med School, as well as remixes for Model 500, Snow Patrol, Lowb & a plethora more, Synkro has most recently found a home at R&S sister label 'Apollo'.  Major support for Synkro's music has come from names like Chris Coco, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73 and dBridge. A truly staple artist in the timeline of UK Bass.

Ambient composer Sun Rain will be sharing his latest single ‘Fog Dance’ on the 19th of August, taken from the upcoming compilation Cosmic Vibrations Vol.3 via Deep Heads and compiled by Zeb Samuels. Having been one half of the electronic duo Snowday, the artist received support from noteworthy publications Exclaim!, Northern Transmissions, Decoded Magazine, and Dusty Organ, while under the alias Sun Rain he has been backed by the likes of Stereofox, Son Of Marketing, and Nagamag, and reached over 1,7 million streams on Spotify. In addition, his music has repeatedly been featured on the YouTube channel Ambient (523k subs).

Chad Skinner is a Toronto-born and based DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, who played an active role in the music scene prior to the release of his debut album, Sheets, under his solo alias Sun Rain, which he launched in 2019 to fuse together his versatile compositional concepts. Chad comprised one half of the electronic duo Snowday and devotes his skillset to the producer collective BisonBison. Having worked alongside the likes of Alaskan Tapes, Pick a Piper and The Field Tapes (Kyle McEvoy), his sound is comparable to Rival Consoles, Nils Frahm, and Ólafur Arnalds.

The music presented pulsates cosmic vibrations, and ethereal energy and takes us on a journey to somewhere far away from planet earth. A true studio wizard, Sun Rain displays a multitude of talents within this recording. Lots of vintage tape machines, synths, and Saxophone all mold together to create something truly unique. The saxophone is played by Joseph Shabason, with Chad performing his compositions on synths, along with complex textures that shimmer in the background.

Speaking on his single, Sun Rain tells listeners: "For this piece I wanted to create something with a repetitive element that seems to grow and morph with the sounds around it. Gently inspired by Steve Reich my aim was to balance dark and murky with light and bubbly. The addition of the sax from Joseph Shabason really helped bring the track to life."

On the second single drop from his forthcoming debut album, every breath and every musical inflection can be heard on ‘Regen’, a truly mesmerising piece of neo-classical composition from the Dutch artist and composer Andert Tysma.

On ‘Children Of Trinoom’, to be released on Apollo Records in September, Tysma fully immerses himself in a solo offering of breath-taking quality. The seasoned musician has toured the world performing bass and piano with several artists and bands and it is on this, his debut long player, that he tells an abstract autobiographical story across eight diverging tracks. 

Recorded primarily in Atlas Studios on the outskirts of Berlin and engineered and mixed by the award-winning Robin Hunt, who constructed a unique recording space in a repurposed GDR metal foundry, the long player brings together eight emotive and tender compositions showcasing the refreshing neo-classic style that Tysma has made his own.
