Long time Transparent Audio family member, Yannons really switches the vibe of Feirce’s ‘Without Me’ from a beautiful liquid track to a deep dancefloor roller! Groningen-based drum and bass beatsmith Yannons, the beauty of music lies in its ability to express feelings that are otherwise impossible to convey. Hailing from a city that boasts an immense nightlife, and has in return produced a plethora of drum and bass talent, Yannons cites heavy influence from fellow Groningen-born artists such as Fre4knc, Ordure, and the legendary trio Noisia. 

Through soundwaves defined by atmosphere, vehemence, and 170BPM-fuelled energy, the Dutch producer consistently curates dancefloor-ready, yet genuinely personal music that encapsulates the techy brilliance of the stripped-back drum and bass sound. His collation of heavy subs, snappy snares, and gritty, yet refined sound design acts as his outlet for emotions and feelings, especially those that are difficult in revealing to the world. It's not only this ethos that fills Yannons with purpose, but in fact, it's gone on to shape his signature deep, dark, and emotive sound. 

Although dancefloor-orientated, themes of loneliness, self-doubt, dystopia, connection, and solidarity flow through the veins of Yannons' music. From learning to DJ at 16, running his own event in the form of 'Bassface', and even making music for six years prior to his first release, the Dutch producer is now going from strength to strength, with releases on Strictly Deep DnB and Transparent Audio soon to be followed with appearances on EKOU Recordings and Context Audio. 

"“It was super cool to have the opportunity to transform a very deep and melodious track into something more dark and techy. The original gave me a lot of melodic elements to shape the track into the somewhat haunted and creepy vibe, only to switch it up with funky bass sounds on the drop.

It is been amazing how much trust has been put into all artists to be free to create the music we want to create, knowing there will always be a place on the label for us.
