When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Today we concentrate on his more melodic alias and under the name Floorplan, Hood has released a stunning album showcasing a slightly different yet equally strong sound.

A new EP is set to drop featuring two re-edits of tracks that appeared on his Floorplan album 'Paradise'. 'Phobia' and 'Never Grow Old' have been given a special Re-Plant and we have the premiere of the latter.

Rising from humble beginnings like Icarus heading towards the skies, Singularity plots its course for the stratosphere as it heads ever onwards and upwards…but unlike Icarus this is a tempered and restrained ascent not an easy task to pull off but one that makes the impact so much stronger for it's subtle, ever evolving simplicity.

With a melody that comes on like a half-remembered memory and lingers long after the sound itself fades away, Singularity stays with you, slowly and carefully weaving its way around you while its drums beat a steady, forceful pulse and its percussion jumps in and out like Billy Pilgrim skipping thru time. The combined effect is something much more than the sum of its parts. Somehow this simple techno tune creates an entire world of its own and asks you to inhabit it for a while, losing yourself in the process..

On the flip side, Monoloc exercises an equal and proportional restraint in his take on things. Like a voice emerging from a faded dream, the melody peeks out behind a curtain of reverb and industrial drums compellingly foreshadowing its full potential. Growing from there, the atmosphere slowly engulfs the listener until finally the slow build up reaches its full force providing a fantastic re-imagining of the original with an almost romantic yet no less powerful conclusion.

"Total Departure" was originally released on Drumcode in 2008. While the minimal techno hype was in full swing back then this track was totally different and instantly became a big hit. With Adam Beyer's approval I decided to update this track, because I felt the production could be more tight and the original could do with an update. I kept the main elements that made the original so special and built new groove and implemented a shorter but equally powerful break. Its been a weapon in my recent sets. Hope you like it!" A firm favourite in the Hot Creations camp, Jey Kurmis is back on board the label following his recent ‘Kari EP’ with another killer release in the form of the ‘Not Too Flabbeh’ EP. The release features two-standout originals, with a heavy duty re-edit of a third original from label boss Jamie Jones.

'Not too Flabbeh' features Belgium producers Nukov & Yelmet, creating a bona fide ‘hit!’ complete with tongue in cheek, catchy vocals, rolling bass, and infectious groove, it’s a winner! Jamie Jones steps up again, this time to do a reedit of 'Farno, a four to the floor edgy killer. Last up is ‘Monkle’ with its tripped vocals and old school stabs!

Having honed his production skills for seven years, Jey Kurmis is really starting to see the fruits of his labour. His career has steadily been on the rise from his first release on Phobic Records to his artist defining EP for Hot Creations last year, and particularly since he joined the NGE Agency. Other productions can be found on the likes of VIVa Music, Resonance Records and Wow! Recordings with wide support including Heidi, Jamie Jones, Claude Von Stroke & Skream.
