After his two outstanding contributions to Vitus' Curse: Sonus Noctis and "Vitus' Curse: Sonus Diei" young talent Talfelt now reappears for his first official solo EP coming on Vitus' Curse. While also setting the second milestone for the label with its first EP he provides a forward- thinking and high-contrast trip through the many facets of Techno with a great sense for aesthetics - as usual, hardware-based, only. 'Troffea' is the origin of Vitus' Curse and centuries later once again the beginning of a long story for the years to come. Brace yourselves. 
As opening of the EP "Troffea" starts with a dinstinctive groovy bassline, smooth but driving percussions, and an almost quirky touch until everything in it falls right into place with a wonderfully iridescent pad taking the mood on a whole new level. With its ecstatic finale that just feels like sunrise it is made to mesmerize en the audience in a seldom uplifting way. 
Coming in with heavy drive Talfelt's "Lost Voices" creates a uniquely dystopian and atmospheric vibe following a darker slightly approach. Pounding drum rhythms, thrilling arpeggios, and whispering vocal shots dissolve into cinematic chord progressions and an excitingly ambivalent mood - original and highly effective. 
"Duende" quickly sucks the listener right into a delightfully nostalgic story spiked with a variety of facets - vivid but still coherent. Captivating and expressively it blazes the way for a heightened state of emotion on the dancefloor. Accompanied by lashing and atmospheric drum patterns and crafted with seamless transitions it surely is one to remember. 
Fast forward, rhythmically and with a compelling symbiosis of arpeggio, drums and percussions "Ritus" shall activate every gathering. Hypnotic and pumping patterns make it a bassline-driven peak time stomper that keeps up momentum from end to end and letting the audience fall into total trance. 
As final complement to this selection, Talfelt delivers a moody and nicely melancholic gem for special moments and perfect closing vibes. With organic propelling drums and its beautiful pad embedded in an interesting atmosphere "Motus Chao" genuinely rounds up Vitus' Curse's first EP with stylistic command and lasting impression.

Incoming! Today we premiere the club mix of 'Something Half Way' from Chris Liebing's forthcoming album, Another Day, due out on Mute on 19 November 2021.

Chris Liebing is a well established DJ, producer and the driving force behind the labels CLR and Spinclub Recordings. His sound has continuously evolved during his career, but he has always true to his techno roots. 

‘Something Half Way’ is released as a single tomorrow and Liebing has hit a sweet spot with a balance between melodic elements and a driving dance floor vitality that also lends itself to headphone listening. 

Chris explained to us that ‘Something Half Way’ is the most “techno” sounding track on the forthcoming album, I still felt like I need to make a club version out of it in order to be able to play it more seamlessly in a set. There is always a fine line between a track that works better on your headphones and one made solely for the dancefloor. While the whole album is more on the headphone side of things, I wanna make sure that I make versions for the tracks that also work on the dancefloor.

“With this album, I wanted to take myself out of it as much as possible,” explains Chris Liebing. After three decades of working dance floors with techno, he has chosen a different avenue for his most recent productions. 

Another Day sees Liebing once again collaborating with an eclectic mix of artists, including several who were involved with Burn Slow. Miles Cooper Seaton, in one of his last performances following his sad and untimely passing earlier this year, and Polly Scattergood lends vocals to a track each, while Ralf Hildenbeutel returns to produce. Ladan (formerly known as Cold Specks), Tom Adams and Maria Uzor (Sink Ya Teeth) are new collaborators for Liebing.

Despite Liebing very much directing and driving the shape, tone and essence of the album, he ultimately views it as one rooted in collaboration and one more contributor to the album is Mute’s Daniel Miller, “Daniel's input was just incredible,” he says. “He brought his modular setup in our studio and he added this extra flavour.” This added element, combined with Hildenbeutel’s silky production skills, the eclectic presence of the guest vocalists and Liebing’s intuitive ear for compositions, results in something truly unique.

A Day in the Life - is the first chapter of a dedicated series fully curated by Steve Bicknell for KR3.

This bold new work by the veteran English artist provides an insight into the mind of the artist.

Side A features three tracks by The Evader, another face of Steve Bicknell. An obscure intro leads us straight to the point: 4/4 sounds, repetitive and hypnotic, not afraid to be heavy. In fact, that's the point: to take everything that is a burden to us and embrace it. After all, there can be no light without darkness.

On Side B, Steve Bicknell has a killer approach. A parallel rail to Side A, with a more furious, still gloomy approach. He moves in the same direction but vents different emotions. The sound is harder, rawer, faster and more impetuous.
An outro ends the EP, as if to represent a circle closing: The first lap inside A day in the life.

Confidential Recipe returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects with four deep and tracky techno cuts.

Following his ‘What You Think EP’ in March this year, Cuyi Siu aka Confidential Recipe returns to Rekids Special Projects with ‘Hold That Jack EP’, turning in another set of fiercely no-nonsense techno cuts inspired by his formative years of clubbing in Venezuela.

“With this release, I want to show a different side of my vision for dance music, a tribute to the classic jacking minimal sound and Detroit techno that has influenced me since I started going to parties in my hometown, Maracaibo” - Confidential Recipe.

Leading the release, title track ‘Hold That Jack’ sees swaying synths, shuffling drums, and hyped vocal samples interplay for a seriously heavy techno cut, before ‘Senso’ adopts a more stripped back approach, injecting energetic drums, subtly evolving bleeps, and sliced samples for a heads-down trip. ‘Toolkit 2’ follows with chunky percussive hits rattling around a broken synth line destined for cavernous warehouses. Final track ‘Starter’ ups the tempo with heavy low-end and skipping hi-hats for a powerful and decisive end to the EP.

Correspondants 28th release, Polina, delivers another brooding, evocative EP for the label, this time from the Agents of Time polyhedron: a fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality. The Italian trio of Andrea Di Ceglie, Fedele Ladisa, and Luigi Tutolo came together in the summer of 2013, and their inaugural album was released via Stem Records in January of the following year. The group uses both analog and digital equipment to refine their unique amalgam of progressive, techno, and ambient music.
