He's been in the game not only making music but also publishing it, with his own imprint 'Promena Records' for the last 5 years.
He loves distorted and robotic sounds and he gradually found his way into creating an unique dark sound, which lead him to the forefront of the European techno scene.

Alex Tomb isn't just an over-20years-practicing Dj/(Later on, producer, on Several Reasons & Capparis Spinosa - his own label - amongst others) and a techno figure in his homeland (Cyprus): he's been keeping on pushing to generate quality and  enthusiasm around techno music since his returning. As such he naturally took part to the quite recent Emotions festival, located in the "Angel’s Hills Resort" in Nicosia; a gathering of both local & International ambitions, that has reunited names such as Dasha Rush, Amandra, F-On.. as well as emerging artists.

Thankful & super pleased to get this opportunity focusing/shedding light on his work (the excerpt isn't to find anywhere else and was recorded last June). Alex not only shows us there's other horizons beyond Berlin and his various  [past] residencies @[Griessmüehle/KLUBD/] STAUB (<-- still active), but his unextinguished passion for the craft. This >>Techno<< set excerpt ranges from minimal influences, techno with powerful beats, to more subtle, soulful, psy playfulness - as well as melodic bits, where spontaneity and honoring detroit/housey vibes has its spot. - This is my first release, and with it, I want to share not just music, but an honest part of myself.
I didn’t follow any rules or stick to a specific genre while creating it—I simply let my thoughts, emotions, and sonic obsessions speak for themselves. Every sound here was crafted with the intention of gradually shaping what will become my sound, my identity.

This project is the first step on a path that’s just beginning. I know there’s still a lot to improve, but I also know that everything you hear here was made with passion, dedication, and a fully self-taught process.

More music will come this year, but this EP… this one is special.
Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

No seguí reglas ni géneros al componerlo; simplemente dejé que mis pensamientos, emociones y obsesiones sonoras hablaran por sí solos. [EN] Although a relative newcomer to the contemporary techno scene, Mahk Rumbae - the British born and Vienna based producer behind Codex Empire - has been creating challenging 
experimental electronic music for 25 years working as one half of industrial/ experimental band Konstruktivists as well as a raft of varied solo and side-projects. 

Combining this background in dark electronic music with heavy rhythmic elements makes Codex Empire an intense and simultaneously danceable experience both live and on record. 
Appearing only as a live act, not as a DJ, Codex Empire has performed at Fondation Sonore in Brussels, MaschinenRaum in Vienna, several cities in Switzerland as special guest 
of The Soft Moon, and numerous appearances in Berlin at Arena Club, Suicide Circus, Berghain and Boiler Room. 

Codex Empire has released two well received EPs on aufnahme+wiedergabe, and have remixed The Soft Moon for their Deeper Remixed LP. Forthcoming releases include an EP on Leyla
Records, a Konsumer remix on Nachtstrom Schallplatten, and a Veil of Light remix on aufnahme+wiedergabe.

Desroi는 이번 주말 벌트에서의 첫 라이브 공연이 예정되어 있었으나, 세계적으로 유행하는 바이러스 상황에 의해 내한이 취소되었습니다. 그리고 우리는 바이러스에 어려움을 겪는 모든 상황들이 곧 극복되길 바라는 마음을 담아 이번 에피소드를 준비하였습니다. 모두들 힘내시고 긍정적인 마음으로 어려움을 이겨내시길 바라겠습니다.

March 12 2019, the 16th vurt podcast is 62min DJ set from German techno producer, DJ, and live artist called Desroi. His modernism techno works have garnered worldwide attention and continue to release on vurt's favorite techno labels such as Avian and Semantica.
Desroi was scheduled to have his first live performance at vurt on this weekend, but the gig has canceled due to the virus situation. We prepared this episode with the hope of overcoming all the difficulties with the virus soon. We hope that everyone will endure the difficulties with a strong and positive mind.

디제이/프로듀서로서의 커리어를 시작하며 동시에 독일 Folkwang 예술대학에서 작곡을 전공한 Desroi는 이론적으로 능숙한 작업능력을 바탕으로 테크노 씬에서 돋보이는 포지션을 만들어내고 있다. 그는 지속적으로 현대음악과 테크노 사이의 교묘한 지점을 탐험하면서 멜로디나 화성이 강조되는 전통적인 방식을 벗어나 리듬과 텍스쳐들로 구성된 새로운 사운드를 추구하고 있다. 
Desroi의 모더니즘 테크노는 매혹적인 여러개의 계층들로 섬세하게 이루어져 있으며 불필요한 어지러움이 없다. 이것은 그가 엄격한 과정을 통해 트랙을 한차례 구성한 이후, 차례차례 껍질을 벗겨내듯 재구성해내기 때문이며, 그럼으로서 청취자들은 처음 언뜻 들었을 때 보다 시간이 지날수록 그의 음악에서 추상적인 무엇인가를 발견할 수 있게 된다. 
라이브 퍼포먼서이자 디제이로 활동하는 Desroi는 무대위에서 가공되지 않은 날 것 그대로의 미래지향적인 소리들을 만들어내며, 확고하고 또 이성적인 방식으로 자신만의 엄격한 테크노 세트를 선보이고 있다.
자신이 운영하는 동명의 레이블 Desroi와 Shifted의 Avian 레이블을 통해 EP앨범들을 발표해오던 Desroi는, 2019년 11월 Svreca가 이끄는 Semantica 레이블을 통해 데뷔앨범 “Floating In Empty”를 발표하였다.

Desroi studied Composition at Folkwang University of Arts – parallel to his already ongoing career as a DJ, producer and label owner – having graduated in 2018. His craftsmanship combined with a more theoretical academic view gives him a distinguished position on the scene. Desroi is curious about exploring the bridges between contemporary music and techno, and he recently said he is less interested in arrangement, melodies and harmony, and much rather focuses strongly on textures, rhythms and new sounds. Listening to his compositions these quotes makes nothing but sense; Desroi’s techno is entrancing and layered but holds no unnecessary clutter. His tracks are so strictly organized and reduced that after spending some time with these stripped creations, the listener will discover something way more abstract than at first glance. Both as a live artist as well as a DJ, Desroi’s performances again focus on unsparingly and unsentimentally exposed material. Raw surface sounds and screeching futuristic signals prevail. 
Desroi, who has been releasing EP albums under the same name label ‘Desroi’ and Shifted's ‘Avian’, released his debut album “Floating In Empty” on the ‘Semantica’ running by Svreca in November 2019.
