The rōnin roamed the countryside, free from commitment, devoid of favour or privilege, a wanderer without a home. He served no master and feared nothing on earth, his heart as free as a bird and his mind as clear as the morning breeze.

It’s up to those brave men to complete the dirty dozen: Slovakia’s Csabi who is known for his releases on Cenobite Records, Dutch doomcore producer Life Runs Dark, mysterious newcomer HadalZone who has recently released a dystopian EP on Spirit Of Progress, and label boss The Relic.

Different in origin, united in attitude: This compilation showcases the state of the art in in the experimental hardcore section. All tracks evolve around harrowing vocal samples, employ doomcore melodies and atmospheres and dazzle the listener with a highly vibrant rhythm section, ear-shattering and dynamic with breakdowns and shifts all in the right places. Pure energy!

Hot on the heels of the winter warmer release on Haunted, Alexander Kassberg aka Starving Insect comes up with 2x4 tracks that strike a rougher tone: Bubbling analogue sequences (this is ZUUR after all), muscular EBM („Hate and Exterminate“), vintage euro electro bass lines („Stillborn Euphoria“), slow and sweeping rave debris and nightmarish atmospheres (Nightmare City“), timeless space techno („Eviction oft he self“). And to make ends meet for good, four highly prolific producers have been invited for remix duty and left their signature each: Rhythm noise pioneers SYNAPSCAPE play it high pitched and noisy, OMNICIDE adds abyssal depth, HIDDEN ROOMS has engineered a techno banger and EMBRIONYC finishes off this killer package with a vortex of delirious off beats.

Yes, you have heard that before, hundreds of times, but it still has the power to arouse curiosity and become the centrepiece of a euphoria-inducing monster of a track.
