Part 2 of Mark Reeve’s Dice Remix package comes courtesy of 2 of Techno’s biggest names, Glasgow’s own Harvey McKay and the wonder duo of Pig & Dan. Both have turned in excellent interpretations of Mark’s storming original, each lending their own imitable style to the package.

Man of the moment, Harvey McKay steps up first and makes his remix, as ever, all about the rolling grooves. Choppy vocal cuts and solid percussion carve one funked up bassline out as Harvey slowly works in the original vocal sample backed by his own cuts while shard like rides slice through, taking the track up a notch. Subtle builds helps Harvey create tension before firing back into his sub-laden groove. Harvey’s real skill in this remix shines through in the arrangement that always seems to be increasing in pace, keeping the track interesting.

Taking things in a heavier route, the dynamic duo of Pig & Dan drop a blistering remix next. Pulsing low-end kick off their hypnotising remix which is layered nicely with skipping percussion and quick shots form Mark’s original vocal sample. Going into the break they add an almost discordant hook that keeps things eerie and dark. Subtle change in the percussion allows the track to flow as this version keeps proceedings firmly rooted in the dance floor. 

These two heavyweight names are a great addition to the previous instalment of this remix series that sees Dice make a fantastic return to the scene in 2014

It wasn't easy to decide which ones to release but Sian (Octopus Records) gave us a hand and focussed on 'Fokal' for his remix! Anyway we are proud to release Maxime's debut EP for Break New Soil and  are curious how you share our taste.

The Lausanne based !Organism label returns with another slab of full bore techno, this time supplied by Denmark’s Soren Aalberg and backed with a remix from Luigi Madonna…

2013 is set to be a busy year for the !Organism imprint as it moves ahead with a packed schedule of releases from some of the hottest names in techno. Following on from the excellent single from Frankyeffe, the !Organism team turn to Denmark’s Soren Aalberg for their latest release featuring 3 original new tracks, backed with a remix. Aalberg has been a respected techno producer for some years now recording for label including Phobiq Recordings, Rhythm Converted and Marco Bailey’s MB Elektronics now he steps up to join the !Organism label with ‘Space Oblivia’.

The EP kicks off with the title track, a rough and tough slice of rolling techno with a dark edge brought courtesy of discordant synth lines and pitch shifted vocals. The original mix is backed up with a remix from one of the rising stars of Italian techno, Luigi Madonna, whose prolific releases on leading labels such as Plus 8 and Analytic Trail have made him hot property. Here he takes the original of ‘Space Oblivia’ and reworks it into a pointed and spacious mix with a deep, hypnotic feel. Next up we have Aalberg’s ‘Leaving Earth’ that sees the producer journey into bass driven, percussive territory with its sparse elements and atmospheric FX. Finally the package is complete with ‘Eyes Just Shine’ a fast paced, tech workout that provides a perfect adrenaline fuelled rush to
close the show.

!Organism have done what they do so well and delivered another slab of blistering techno from an undoubtedly talented producer, enjoy!
