NURDANE (‘Particle of Light’)

This is for my mom, Nurdane, which literally means ‘particle of light’. This collage shows the infinite number of different musical and therefore soul colors that bridged me and my mom. So basically it is my musical white light. I think I cried a lifetime of tears in 24 hours to build this set. It felt like it is really true that the first day of my mom’s very early passing (been 7 months) was actually the first day of my life. 

And i have to put this here: Pir Sultan said (lyrics of the one of the songs in the collage):

Ha bi de, anacigima ilkokulda “nar tanesi nur tanesi, annesinin bir tanesi” derlermis. O hic kendi anasina kiyamadi, anasi ona kiyamadi; anam bana kiyamadi, ben anama kiyamadim. Ondan ki bu lafi hem ona hem kendime aliyorum 🖤
