I got myself pregnant today.
Planted the seed deep in my womb.

for this child of mine.

Astral genes —
from the heavens,

from galaxies and distant worlds.

Chthonic genes —
from waters, from soil,
from the ancient forests of this Earth.

I summoned back the pieces of myself
scattered through longing,
expectation,
and outward desire.

I cut the cords
that drained me
without return.

All my fire arrows
are returning home —
to nurture this egg,
this gem
nested in my core.

Pregnant again.
