Benji Schilder, also known as ‘DJ Subsonic’ is a 15 year old DJ who’s going real hard lately. He started DJ’ing about 2 years ago and picked up feeling for rhythm and music really fast.
After listening a few mixtapes by DJ Artistic Raw named ‘The Drughouse’ he knew what he wanted to do: He wanted to be a DJ/Producer.
After saving money for a long time Benji bought his first DJ set: two ‘Pioneer CDJ1000s’ & ‘a DJM700’. Soon he got into the swing of things and after just half a year two ‘Pioneer CDJ2000s’ were shining in his room.
“Without producing, you’re not getting anywhere”  Benji said, not long after he started DJ’ing he bought the program ‘Logic Pro 9’.
After hours and hours he started to understand the program and after a while he was pumping out remix after remix.
Eventually  he sent in a couple tracks for a DJ contest where he got chosen as one of the best 45. He was really pumped because there were more than a thousand submissions. He had to do a liveset in front of 2000 people in the urban final, he won and now he is one of the 9 remaining finalists!

Benji went to Turkey in the spring of 2013 to spin in a Turkish club a couple of times. He thinks it was a really cool experience!
Nowadays, Benji has more than one gig almost every weekend so he can do just that what he loves the most!
‘DJ Subsonic’ mostly DJ’s in the Dutch province ‘Noord-Holland’ in the genres: Big Room House, Moombahton, Latin, Tech-House & Trap. But usually it depends on the crowd what kind of music he plays!
Here a couple clubs he got the chance to play in: Hollywood Music Hall (Rotterdam) LIFE 072 (Alkmaar)  Panama (Amsterdam) Duycker (Hoofddorp) KDANZ (Schagen) Berries ( Alkmaar)  Club 5 (Egmond aan Zee), De Koog (Zuid-Scharwoude), Melkweg (Amsterdam), Concordia (Langedijk,) Music Festival de Hout (Alkmaar), BukBuk (Heiloo), AZ Stadion (Alkmaar), AMHC (Alkmaar), Argus (Alkmaar), Afterten (Antalya, Turkey) Zienhouse (Uitgeest), de Tapperij (Alkmaar), Victorie (Alkmaar) and many more!
