This is from my all-time favorite show (for many reasons!).  This was from a sold-out Miner's Alley Playhouse show and the band was absolutely smokin' that night.  I would give anything to do this show again and relive every magic moment!

Jungleland

This is one of my favorite tracks from Lonesome Bound.  I wrote this song about my (then)girlfriend, Christie Hill (now Stevens).  She brought me out of some very dark days and held my hand as she ushered me into the best part of my life.  I will be forever in her debt for the way she believed in me and made me feel whole again.

I've played with a lot of talented songwriters; Rob Silk is unbelievable and this song contains everything I love about his writing.  I was honored to be a part of this project with him and did my best to bring something to the table that would complement his beautiful songs.  I hope you like it!

That Laugh

Throwback to 1993!  I was in a rock and roll band and we thought we would conquer the world.  This track was from our debut album, written by Jason Heilman and Greg Schober, and marks a time in my life when I believed that a Band had to be a Brotherhood.  And, God, I miss that hair!

When I was in college I used to go hear my teacher, David Cullen, play Bach lute suites.  He made Bach sound like Debussy.  Every time I play Bach, I remember Dave and try to emulate a little of his magic.

This is a demo I made at home one day.  I grew up going to this river: boating, swimming, and water-skiing; I loved going there.  Years later I was reading Kerouac and he mentioned the "Ghost of the Susquehanna" but didn't expand on the character.  So I decided to.

Have you ever tried to write a song in 5/4 time?  It's not easy to get it to sound natural.  Here is my attempt.  This was from a session in my living room from the early 2010s.
