Mezzanine... 

The fast growing a name known for his filthy-psychadelic-bass mixes and parties under the “I Love BASS” banner. Having played alongside or back to back with some of Cape Town's biggest artists, crowds are always enraptured by his presence and energy.

Mezzanine took the title of BEST DJ in the 2012 Rubadub DJ Competition Judged by Cape Town's biggest Bass-weights (Grimehouse, Audiophile021, Psydstep & Dub Vader), and was also the 1st runner up in the Ground Zero DJ Comp in 2013. 

Bernz (as he is called by most) tries hard not to be defined by any one specific style or genre. Living by the ethos that ‘music is music’, he tries to steer clear of trying to re-invent the wheel, but draws on whichever style he feels would best convey the message of any particular musical project on which his focus lies. Having been a DJ for more than 15 years & being a guru in various digital mediums, his production techniques are not limited to just that, often incorporating live musician or instruments into his projects. One thing that remains constant is his passion & love for music and his keen sense of intuition as to what will ‘be the next hit.’

As the head of Electronic Music Production & Programming at Cape Audio College, as well as The Course Director at The Pioneer DJ Academy Cape Town, Mezzanine clearly knows his way around the studio as well as how to move a crowd, and when it comes to his bringing the BASS he has knowledge and skills to take you or your event to the next level.

Known predominantly for his hip-hop production & beats, DUBSTEP came as a natural progression in venturing deeper into the world of electronic music.

With regular gigs in & around the city, Mezzanine is fast becoming a name worth mentioning in the Cape Town music scene.

I am not confined to any labelled box , i play what i feel , the spirit within does the rest.
