“Moog Platform in the Sound Wheels” è un brano estrapolato dalla colonna sonora del film inedito Porca Zozza, un b-movie intriso delle atmosfere urbane più torbide degli anni ’70: notti illuminate da lampioni giallastri e insegne al neon, dove si intrecciano droghe, giochi d’azzardo, corse clandestine, scommesse, prostituzione e omicidi su commissione della criminalità organizzata.
Il sound del pezzo è un omaggio senza compromessi a quell’epoca: ruvido, viscerale, ma al tempo stesso elegante nel suo groove vintage. Al centro della scena troneggia il Moog, strumento simbolo della rivoluzione sonora degli anni ’70, qui portato all’estremo, trasformato in piattaforma pulsante che guida e avvolge tutto l’arrangiamento. Le linee sintetiche si intrecciano con ritmiche serrate, evocando un mondo oscuro e sensuale, dove la città è al tempo stesso tentazione e dannazione.
La forza di questo brano sta nella sua capacità di farsi colonna sonora immaginifica anche al di fuori delle immagini: l’ascoltatore viene trascinato in un film mentale, tra vicoli sporchi e locali fumosi, seguendo il battito analogico del Moog come fosse il cuore nascosto di una metropoli in decadenza.
Un esercizio di stile perfettamente centrato, capace di restituire la sporcizia sonora e il fascino estetico degli anni ’70, con una sensibilità contemporanea che non ne annulla, ma anzi ne esalta la potenza evocativa.

Stefan Schwander aka Harmonious Thelonious is definitely not a newcomer. He has been around for a long time and has already released lots of amazingly varied music on labels such as Emotional Response, Italic, Meakusma and Diskant. He’s also an integral part of the infamous Duesseldorf / Salon Des Amateurs axis that is an obvious hotbed of talent. He describes his style as "American minimalism vs. African drumming vs. European sequencing", a heady mixture which is clearly evident on this EP though with a definite Middle Eastern twist. At Versatile HQ they were introduced to this clutch of tracks by one of the members of Acid Arab and were totally blown away. Stefan has a very unique production style, fusing all of the above elements with a hint of Gamelan, a dash of tweaked FM synthesis type sounds with a dose of warm ambience and finally his own singular touch on the mix. Here premiered is the b1 "Defender", our fave cut of this delightful four tracker. revisiting some of the A-side sound palette, but catapulting those cosmic tones into a realm of amphetamine fuelled intensity - peaktime drummy psychedelia for any and all dance floors. The small boat bobbed on the water, looking for a place to dock before dawn broke. The two brothers scanned the shore before honing in on a derelict cove shrouded in darkness. They couldn't be caught, they had travelled for too long to risk their cover being blown. As they moored up and stepped on to solid ground, they gazed up at the famous skyline before them; a sight they had only ever seen before in books and paintings. This would be their new home; a place where they could make their names known. The unsuspecting city had no idea what they were in for...

Lithuanian-based producer Pletnev returns to local label Le Temps Perdu for his second EP, following his 2017 debut with 'St. Bones'. His diverse productions have taken him to labels like SZE, Fleeting Wax, Meda Fury and Hard Fist, with sounds spanning percussive tools to EBM and leftfield cuts. His forthcoming EP, 'Voranto Bros', features blinding remixes from CockTail d'Amore bosses Discodromo and Biologic Records' Lion's Drums.

Alexander Pletnev started an entirely new journey under his own name two years ago. Release after release on forward thinking and respected labels like Media Fury, KUMP, Fleeting Wax, SZE and Hard Fist, he has built a solid discography of incredible diversity - from percussive DJ tools to viscous synthetic EBM to dreamy weirdness.
His latest EP titled "Voranto Bros" is a long awaited return to Le Temps Perdu and the prime example of refined musical storytelling. Title track is a cinematic tale, a sound novel about two migrant brothers hitting the shores of USA in the dawn of XXth century to became vicious gangsters, broken souls ruling the night of NYC. Dusty tape hiss, off kilter percussions and melodies all alternate to later sink under the weight of heavy drums. While Hope They Wont Come Back is a severe instrumental ballad with low drums, talking bass lines and noisy guitar riffs - five minutes inside confused man's mind.
On a remix front, Cocktail D'Amore's head honchos Discodromo strip Voranto Bros down to bear bones to deliver EBM style dance floor burner. And Harold Boué aka Abstraxion aka Lion's Drums of Biologic Records fame delivers menacing remix for Hope They Won't Come Back, a dark & mystic journey, which unwinds slowly and builds up to unexpected climax.
