A compilation of various polishing diamonds found deep in the Earth itself. Each diamond produced under high pressure and temperature some 250 kilometres in the Earth’s mantle. From breakbeat to house and techno and further into acid and trance, Truth Diamonds 3 consists of 10 crystal elements with the ability to disperse light of different colors and emotions. Truth diamonds can be worth millions.

Naarm (Melbourne) based collective Butter Sessions celebrate over a decade in business with an extensive glossary of talented friends and affiliates pressed on a three-part compilation series. The label has always held the community closest, as exemplified by the 20+ artists featured over the three releases. Each 12” presents a grand soundscape anchored into the tenebrous energy of the dancefloor, with its inquisitive electronics and fierce pulse. If there was a definition for the Butter Sessions sound of ten years in the making, the answer lies here. 

The final compilation in the series commences with Time, a masterful blend of mid-tempo digi-dub and two step. Mosam Howieson gifts us Influx, a thick and hazy wedge of techno and Canada’s D. Tiffany serves up the mechanic and restless techno on a knife's edge in Cast the Trance. Ben Fester delivers Tumbo Rumblin, a leftfield slice of intergalactic electronics. Meanwhile, Furious Frank presents the electro and acid charged Blue Light while Makeda plays with genre expectations with the experimental composition Fable. Finally, the record's conclusion is Doordrms by Ben Keynes; dipping in tempo with acid drops, resulting in thoughtful IDM nuances.

It's been 30 years since John Peel pondered over a mysterious house record with cryptic stickers on his legendary radio show in 1990. @kaspermarott will release his debut album ‘Full Circle’ in January on his own Axces Recordings imprint. The album features 11 tracks that explore different genres and moods, while remaining within Kasper’s colourful universe.

Full Circle demonstrates Kasper’s ability to play with layers and structure. The tracks are built from complex layered harmonies, looped melodies and different rhythmic textures. The first release of Escape Artist’s new imprint is a various artists affair brought together by the power of friendship. After years of being sent amazing music by new and old friends from near and afar, the time has come to share this joy with the rest of the world. As a label, we will seek to shine a light on psychedelic music of all designs and the first release will focus on the dance variety. It is the label’s hope that the love and friendship that brought this project together will shine through in the music. 

Side A opens with cris. p’s ‘Lemon’, a mid-tempo breakbeat roller that epitomises the ideal qualities of a track found in an opening set. Playful acid notes and indecipherable spoken work glisten against a backdrop of thumping kicks and warm sub bass. Grim Beazley’s ‘Acid Leaf’ evokes a memory of crowded peak time floors. The song’s gentle introduction gives way to powerful 303/909 interplay and leaves us yearning to go back to that place.

Hex Editor’s transcendental breakbeat dreamscape ‘Tuesday’ opens the B side with expert precision. Soaring pads and swimming arpeggios provide the perfect spot for the listener to land after their flight from the previous side. Escape Artist & cris. p’s ‘People Division’ rounds out the release. A kaleidoscopic downtempo introduction leads to a groove punctuated with intricate polyrhythmic basslines. Produced during lockdown, this piece is an attempt to sonically manifest our collective desire to return to the dancefloor.

PSY SECTION was founded on stolen land. We acknowledge that this release was created on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging.
